IRAN showed off its range of ballistic missiles at an annual military parade today, with the rockets draped in banners vowing to "crush America" and "wipe Israel off the map".
An anti-Israel banner was draped on the side of a Shahab-2 missile, while another saying "We will crush America under our feet" was on the side of a trailer carrying the latest Shahab-3 missile.
The parade marks the beginning of "Sacred Defence Week", an event commemorating Iraq's 1980 attack on Iran and the outset of the bloody eight-year war.
"The Shahab-3 missiles, with different ranges, enables us to destroy the most distant targets," said an official commentary accompanying the parade, which was carried live on state television.
"These missiles enable us to destroy the enemy with missile strikes," the commentary said, without giving any specific details on the range of the missiles.
Bump and ping.
Boy, do they have a death wish.
If they keep this up it will definitely keep Americans from voting for Kerry. No one in his right mind could hope to be under the Johns when Iran wants to do more with them than to show them off.
"Forewarned is forearmed."
:90 minutes from launch detection, Iran would cease to exist as a governed, intact nation.
The land mass would still be there, but not its governing and military infrastructure.
Those are the rules of M.A.D.
Long live the Boomers
One hopes there is one wandering around the Indian Ocean, for quick flight times.
And some Americans want John FnKerry to go talk to nice to Iran, make friends and have tea!
Okay, now we know ANOTHER reason why Kerrry opposed strategic missle defense.
Deathwish is right. And then the world wonders why the U.S has to defend itself. ASk the UN if that alone is not reason to protect and defend yourself and your neighbours?
I believe in Unilateralism. "strike thy enemy first; before thy enemy strikes you" (my Philosophy) This is an act of agression. I mean these guys really want to see the state of the art equipment. Maybe a few drones with some big time fire crackers will lite up their parade.
I say they are next on the map. Put "Kimjongill" to sleep with some American TV. He loves Hollywood.
Bump! It's pretty tough to fire your missiles while they are being pounded by smart bombs using GPS, but let them thump their chests for now, as in time it will be their turn to feel the wrath of the EAGLE!!
And another reason for Bush to take the initiative so that the world will be safe and the dems will continue to have more to complain about.
Jimmy Carter We need you!
ANy pictures of this freak show draped in arabic garb? I'd like to see their tonka toys.
I think this is where Indiana Jones calmly shoots the guy wielding the machetes.
Ahh! Thank-you. They are a little more detectable with the white head gear. Should be easy target practise. Especially with the "lock-on" and GPS. I say, let November come and then have the General give the go ahead to the boys that are already there. If were going to clean up might as well finish the Job.
God bless the Men & Women who are fighting everyday so we can sit here and enjoy a cup of coffee. God Bless GWB and God Bless America.
Well let's see. They faught Iraq for 8 years, pretty much to a stand stil.
The U.S. obliterated Iraq's military in about 100 days.
Does'nt look like they were paying attention does it?
I dare 'em to mess with Israel let alone the most powerful force in the planets history!
Given the recent stories on the protests in Iran against the Hard-Liners I find it dificult to believe the have the support of their people to commit suicide.
I was entirely following you until the "that is an act of agression" thing. What is ?
<six minutes from launch to detonation. ;-)
"This is an act of agression". I mean the slogans draped on the missles saying crsuh America.
Oh, that. Well, it's certainly agressive, yes.
