MR. TIM RUSSERT: Our issues this Sunday: the race for the White House; 44 days to go, as the candidates debate Iraq, the economy and more. And this morning, in our MEET THE PRESS Senate Debate series, we focus on those same issues in the most closely watched race in the country, South Dakota, where the Democratic leader of the U.S. Senate, Tom Daschle, is being challenged by the Republican former congressman, John Thune. Though we both want Daschle flushed like the Johns, I cannot see how you can say Thune did a "great job."

But, I guess we can just agree to disagree.

SD tends to poll very accurately because it has a relatively small voting population, and Thune is polling 2-3 points ahead right now. This is a very good sign; if Thune is still ahead by 2 the week before the election, I think he pulls the upset. But I still think he should be a little less eager to have 66 debates after seeing Russert's show yesterday.

Just my opinion. Judging by the other posts, I'm not alone in my disappointment. Hopefully, it won't matter when all is said and done!

There was a point in there when I thought Puff was going to cry, very unconvincingly by the way. I had to take a shower after listening to that pr*ck.

Forgot about that. May as well include all of the Black Hills as well.

How many South Dakotans really watch Meet the Press? If Republicans write off Thune, I'll never vote Republican again!

Yes, we can agree to disagree. I will agree that there is no need for many debates. I think Thune will garner the most votes from campaigning.

Boy does it get tiresome to hear that refrain "If blah, blah, blah I'll never vote republican again."

Nor does it matter how important or trivial the blah, blah, blah is. Nobody wants to hear that crap.

I disagree with you. I think Thune easily held his own against both dasshole and russert. On the other hand, when dasshole started his disengenous, fained outraged/insult/hurt shtick about Thunes comments, it was obviously phony and laughable.
