I don't mean to be a naysayer, but after watching this debate, I think Thune should stop asking for so many of them. Daschle was his usual manipulative, smooth, used car salesman self; but Thune seemed at times like he'd never faced a tough question before and just fell right into Puff's little traps. I love Thune, and after Bush winning I would most like to see Daschle go; but if this debate is a sign of things to come.......just stick with T.V. ads, John, please. We don't want six more years of the Puffster!!

I'm not real familiar with Thune and I thought he did a good job.

Sometimes I'm overly critical. I just think that Thune seemed very unprepared.

Thune did look uncomfortable at times....of course the "impartial" moderator didn't let up at times he looked like he saw the deer in the headlights....
I hope he beats Daschle like an unwanted step-child and for the life of me can't figure out how a state that overwhelmingly votes for Bush votes at the same time for Daschle....talk about electoral schizophrenia!

I saw most of the show, and I thought Thune held his own, especially with the host asking very biased questions. Thune one the judicial nominees part of the debate.

Well, he impressed me enough to win my vote. Then again I don't live there, and I'd never vote for Daschle.

Basic bribery. Daschle brings home the pork and beats Thune over the head for voting against any dollar Tiny Tom can suck out of the rest of us taxpayers. It looks totally ridiculous to people who don't live in SD and it is.

And I've brought more pork to South Dakota than you can ever dream of, and without me there would be no highways, or social security or Mount Rushmore or Missouri River.

I thought Thune let Daschle get away with that puke-worthy "I'm a leader, he's a follower line" too many times. Two-face Puff is as lockstep a lib as he can get away with.

I had never seen Thune before. He is good looking and made Daschle seem old and pre 9-11. If Thune was a Democrat he would be the media's up and coming handsome politician. I wish he would beat Daschle. Thune should keep telling the story about Zell Miller's disappointment with Daschle after 9-11 and Daschle blocking everything. Daschle was one of the people that got Zell so angry.

"electoral schizophrenia"

The only way I can figure it is pork. Nebraska, ND, SD, the list is endless; seems everyone I meet from there/know there is conservative but they vote like commies.

Daschle's a Leader all right, he's going to lead us off the economic cliff.

Put me in the category of those that have not seen Thune before. I thought he was really impressive - well spoken, looks great, intelligent , etc. etc. Maybe it has something to do with not living in the state, but I , for one, was really impressed.

How many times did Thune say: "You know.."?

agree...I don't have a dog in this hunt, but Thune did very well...he seems to have much command of the details of the state issues, and I was impressed with his calm under fire...he would get my vote based upon his performance Sunday...and, at the risk of being labled a troll, I don't vote straight ticket- I vote for the folks who make the most sense...

Daschle: "Blah blah blah. Blah...blah blah blah, blah. Blah blah.....blah blah blah, blah. Blah. Blah! Blah, blah, blah....blah!"

Fortunately, that's all I hear come out of Daschle's mouth whenever he talks.
