Drudge: Secret Service on Trail of Presidential Assassins

A worried Matt Drudge reported on his radio show tonight that the Secret Service is on the trail of several people intent on assassinating President Bush.

Drudge said the news story is not his, but that "those in the know" know what he's talking about.

He said more will be reported in the coming days.

Drudge pleaded with his fellow Americans to let the political process play out and to not descend to killing presidential candidates.

I don't see why this is far-fetched at all. As someone above said, it is just a numbers game. Out of all the people in the US there are plenty who hate Bush. Out of those who hate him, there are those who want him assinated. Out of those there are those who would do it, and out of those there are those who can do it. Actually I find it pretty amazing that there aren't multiple assassination attempts on every president.

Funny thing, I was worried about Both President Bush and Al Gore during that period. Said prayers for both.

Now Al Gore has gone over the edge and I'm not entirely sure even he is of no threat to the President.

I second your desires for the President to fill out a second term, then retire to live a long life filled with the joy of his family.

I don't really believe in curses, per se, but I do admit it is vaguely concerning every President was murdered or died elected in '00. Even though Reagan supposedly escaped, he did come down with Alzheimer's not too long after.

he couldn't raise the terror threat yet again, so they invent a phony possible threat on the POTUS' life.....

The number of times I've heard that whenever Bush needs a bump, they raise the terror threat.....

That was probably a function of age more than anything. Apparently some percentage of the populace gets it in their 70's and 80s...dunno if it is genetic or enviromental.

This is sick speculation but anytime prior to Jan 20, Cheney becomes President regardless of what has transpired with electors or congress. He holds that position until at least January 20.

Arent President and Vice President now elected as a team meaning that Cheney has as many electoral votes as Bush. I know in the early days that was not true and we had cases where the President and Vice President were from different parties.

I cant imagine anyone standing for Bush winning the election and then because he was killed, the opposition party took office. No way that would fly, especially if it wasnt close.

Please, those of you who are praying for President Bush also consider praying for the Pope, even if you aren't Catholic. There was a prophecy concerning the death of both in the same year. You really don't want that to happen. Other terrible events would occur following their deaths. Going to turn out the light and pray...

A couple of days ago I saw a clip of W. at a campaign rally and noticed that his suit jacket looked as though it was bulkier than usual. It definitely appeared as though he was wearing a vest underneath.

Ever since Craig Kilborn's CBS broadcast in August 2000 with the graphic "snipers wanted" over an image of George W. Bush at the GOP convention, there has been a steady stream of overt and insinuated calls by his opponents for the murder of President Bush.

But the media got so riled when a reporter LIED about a Bush rally crowd booing his good wishes for Clinton's surgery!
