Barboursville resident Phil Parlock and his children became national celebrities in the world of Internet blogging and conservative talk radio on Friday.

A Bush-Cheney campaign sign yanked from the hands of 3-year-old Sophia Parlock and ripped into pieces was the focus of all the attention. The incident occurred Thursday evening at Tri-State Airport during Democratic vice presidential candidate John Edwards’ campaign stop.

Republican supporters all over the Internet on Friday were saying Parlock was merely a Republican exercising his First Amendment rights, set upon by Democratic thugs.

That picture makes the RATS look really bad.

Add this to the forged CBS documents and Harkin and McAwful shrieking "liar" at Bush..and I think all of this is going to backfire on the Dems.

two Kerry supporters were arrested at a Bush rally for wearing pro Kerry tee shirts.

That one doesn't pass the sniff test.

There has to be more to it than that.

Can you supply a source?

And anyone that thinks that bringing a three-year old to a dangerous location is just hunky-dory needs their heads examined for sure! Hopefully those that see nothing wrong with this fool do not have children of their own.

Oh please! It was a political rally NOT a street riot.

How was the father supposed to know the Dems would behave so uncivilized?

Guess parents shouldn't bring their children to sporting events either because fights might break out in the stands.

Not true.

It was behind a fence at an airport: NOT a single-partyrally. Edwards was getting on the plane at the airport, the demo's went there hoping he's speak. But he wasn't scheduled to speak.

Now, the demo's are using the press to lie for them again, but it wasn't a rally.

Kerry, and the dnc, or Hillary,or anybody else can stop it immediately.

the charade of Independence is a piece of Rather's BS, and the demo's would immediately stop it - if they wanted to.

Perhaps this father naively thought that his young daughter would be safe with him in a crowd of Kerry supporters. He knows better than that now.

While I wouldn't have my kids hold any political signs unless they were old enough to make informed political choices on their own, one *should* be able to involve them, without considering that they will be abused, harassed, assaulted, and so on.

Of course, in a thugocracy, where the most defenseless persons are targeted for abuse, a small child is the obvious thug magnet. The little girl's older brother, being able to recognize the goons for the evil creatures that they are, surely will never be symphathetic to union causes, haha.

What kinds of "parents" are these union goons anyway? The kind that teach their children [by example] that violence and intimidation are ideal work ethics. The public schools are full of these budding miscreants. No wonder homeschooling is becoming more and more popular.

The goons need unions to lead them by the hand and look after them all through their "rewarding careers", because they refuse to grow up, as evidenced by their willingness to bully a pre-schooler. The guy who tore up the sign seems like the type who would kick a puppy.

These thugs are kindred spirits with the so-called Palestinians.

I apologize for not having a link, but it was reported
in the Charleston Gazette and on WCHS TV 8 in late July
or early August. I was not trying to justify this incident
as tit for tat for the earlier incident.

My intent was to condemn both incidents and to make the
point that the main stream media in WV tends to quash any
negative stories concerning the state.

Well, what's good for the goose is good for the gander. moveon.org is to Kerry as Swiftboats are to Bush. Neither can legally do a thing about those 527s. Frankly, I think that's a net loss for the big F. Swiftboats ads are effective. moveon's are ludicrous.

Look, there's Tom Harkin and Kerry with their Sandinista buddy Ortega. What were they doing meeting with that communist SOB anyway?. They sure look HAPPY to see him!

I always laugh when I see that pic. Harkin is looking at Ortega like he wants to drop to his knees. LOL.

I kid not. One protestor screamed something along the lines of "go back home b- we don;t like your kind here"

and in boston, the protestors were fenced in behind barbed wire.

something is wrong with this picture....

It was a demoncrat rally. It comes with the territory. Most of us simply learn this through day-to-day exposure to liberals. The father may have led a sheltered life away from them. Father apparently had to learn this lesson the hard way. :-/

There was an incident in Charleston, WV earlier in the campaign where two Kerry supporters were arrested at a Bush rally for wearing pro Kerry tee shirts.

The woman arrested at a Bush rally was picked up for trespassing on private property at a closed event.

The sign-tearing incident took place on public land at an airport.

Big difference.

I can't believe that people in West Virginia get arrested for wearing a political t shirt, they must have been disruptive or drunk and disorderly or something else. Not just for the shirt.

Since when should one assume that an airport..in public..in the United States,,is a dangerous location?

If one is to assume that, then these rat protestors should have been arrested.

My two children are just fine thanks and we do not intend to give up our freedom to appease apologists or rats.
