Kerry is making the rounds of popular and decidedly nonpolitical television with upcoming interviews on "Dr. Phil," "Live with Regis and Kelly" and "The Late Show with David Letterman."

Or better yet, Dr. Phil could address his nightmares (PTSD?) and his sleepwalking.

> I`ve yet to see this guy appear on anything other than
> comedy/light-heated TV shows. Gee, I wonder why that is.

If you caught his recent outing on Imus, or his crank
phone call to the NYT last week, you'd know why.

Kerry can't even handle obvious softball questions from
a friendly reporter. He has to be hoping that Phil and
Dave will only want to talk about windsurfing and
similarly urgent international matters.

The bigger audience is had by "Car 54, Where Are You" reruns. Toody and Muldoon; the predecessor to Kerry and Edwards. Clueless but highly humorous! According to the latest polls we'll be walking a beat real soon, possibly November!

The only time that I can think of the insufferable Dr. Phony Phil is when the guys on the Man Show had a Dr. Phil look-alike do a fake book signing. They had the phony phony-doc hitting on every woman that came by, asking them to go back to his hotel room. Good stuff!

Here's another vote for the Frenchurian Candidate to appear on Springer...

As sad as it sounds, it may not be a bad idea.

It's not a bad idea. It's exactly what Bush did during the middle of September of 2000 when he was behind. Bush appeared on Oprah and Regis and Kathy Lee within the same week, which helped turn his campaign around.

My guess is that it won't work for Kerry, however, because he's such an unlikeable pompous bore who seems genetically incapable of letting his down without coming off like a complete phony.

The press is going to unload on Kerry with cannon fire when he does meet with them.

You mean they're going to stop reporting as fact bogus memos aimed at hurting Bush?

Dr. Phil has a career?

He's a hustler and nothing more.

Bush's ratings rose when he kissed Oprah.

Frankly, things like this disgust me. But it's the way it is, for good or bad.

Correction of something in my post that you've probably already figured out, but, heck, I'm an anal-retentive about these things:
...because he's such an unlikeable pompous bore who seems genetically incapable of letting his hair down without coming off like a complete phony.

"decidedly nonpolitical television"

ANOTHER LIE from the AP -- these shows are HIGHLY political, they just won't ask Jean-Fraude any questions he doesn't want to be asked! They'll even help out, with a few cheap shots at anything American.

The more people get to know Kerry the less they like him. Bush wins the TV appearance battle on degree of difficulty alone.

Nice to see he is making the DNCBS circuit. Maybe he can get a hard hitting Dan Rather interview. Still afraid someone might ask if he was in Cambodia!

Can't we write these "shows" and networks and voice our distain about giving Kerry "free air time".

I need a Campaign for Dummies book, but is this illegal under the new campaign laws (assume it's still 30 days out) and don't the stations need to give the GOP and Ralph Nadar equal time?

Oh my, and I still think Regis is so cute!

Sorry have a relative that "swears" by him, yes he does have a career and you would be surprised by whom it is that lap up what he spews on any given day.

There is a reason why "Dr. Phil" is being used.

Lightweight lightheads, all.

Maybe this is why the president agreed to appear on O'Reilly. O'Reilly is pseudointellectual drivel at best, but at least it sports the appearance of hard-hitting information. Kerry won't do O'Reilly since he'd stutter his way into oblivion.

Beware the body O'Reilly. O'Reilly is one of those guys who hangs out in the upscale bar/restaraunt washing down blended scotch from a single malt bottle. He's been ranting on and on in that bar for ten years since no patrons there are man enough to kick his a$$ and remind him his no spin zone ends on his spinning barstool. He has been on Dan Rather shpeals for a long time. He is a defensive, abrubt, thug when the camera is on. The word "thug" originates from the word "Thugee", which originated in India and Pakistan in the 16th century. It refers to a person who believes it his civic duty to stealthfully sneak up on strangers contaminating your town and culture and killing them, so as to not bring harmful attitudes into your society.

Watch out for O'Reilly. He does not listen to anything. He is a completely uneducated man. That being one who is unwilling to learn or observe for the betterment of one's self. He stopped learning when he found out he could take the ball at recess and if he shouted down everyone else he could keep it until the bell rang.

The Seann Hannity, Collin Powell interview was great. Powell was awesome. Seann is no journalist and he's a dopey well intended kid and it went exceptionally well for both. Seann's no journalist, or holder of crack debating skills. He has a very poor command of world history.
