The Krystal Co. will soon begin selling its square burgers 'round here.
Betting that its small hamburgers will be a hit throughout Texas as they are across the South the company is expanding its restaurants in the Lone Star State beginning in November.
A restaurant set to open in mid-November in Carrollton is the first of five on tap for North Texas from Dallas-based Little Foods Franchise Group LLC. Restaurants also are slated to open in Houston in November and in Austin early next year. Eighteen Krystals are scheduled to open in Texas by 2009.

I broke my tooth on a nashville crystal. Piece of bone. Asked the head-honcho at Krystal if he would pay for my dental bills. The man gave me the run-around and never helped me a cent. Not that he was obligated to help me, but it would have been the decent thing to do, since it was their fault. But he was a typical greedy businessman which this site seems to love. I've never been to krystal since. At least, I can hurt them that microscopic bit.
Well Crystal Gayle was named after this chain. I guess the K was too much for her too.
See my post 29 for a description.
I've never seen so much hype in my life for a franchise expansion.
Have yiou already forgotton the hype over the Krispy Kremes? This doesn't come anywhere close.
The slogan used to be (and perhaps still is) "Nothing else is a Krystal".
Exactly, My favorite breakfast, 2 triple meat whataburgers, plain, dry on a wheat bun with a 32oz dr. pepper. I have that two or three times a week.
You, too, have a sensitive sense of spell? :-)
Don't know why, when or how gut bombs themselves became known as sliders. Thoughts, anyone?
Being an esteemed and multiple generations-long member of the fine citizens of the South, I will say that I have always considered Texas to be part of the South, not only in terms of geography, but in terms of philosophy, values, and customs. Texas and Georgia, along with the rest of the South, are united. We are together in the fight to keep the forces of evil (yankees and liberals) from ruining our great Republic.
Therefore, I say with certainty and with pleasure, that the people of the Great State of Texas deserve to have Krystal in their fine state. You have been denied for too long this culinary delight. Welcome, my brothers and sisters of Texas!
I sure am . . . dress rehearsal is this weekend, and we get going for real on October 2. You comin' out to see me this season?
I do indeed. I'm eccentric that way.
I don't generally engage in name calling, but you are a piker when it comes to Krystals.
4 Krystals is an afternoon snack to hold you until supper.
Tejas was part of the Confederacy...good enough for me.
They will love Krystals....or else.
I'll give them a try when they get here, but I remain a little skeptical. Hope I'm wrong.
If you are not wrong, have a couple of Maalox handy. And don't think of it as a hamburger. It's a Krystal.
Hmmmm...I don't know.
Are you going to have big knives, be dressed all scary and make mean faces like before?
[Usually I ain't, but this time I'm skeered.]
I've seen Krystal restaurants in Tennesse before but never ate at one.
Are they good burgers or are they like White Castle?
