The Krystal Co. will soon begin selling its square burgers 'round here.
Betting that its small hamburgers will be a hit throughout Texas as they are across the South the company is expanding its restaurants in the Lone Star State beginning in November.
A restaurant set to open in mid-November in Carrollton is the first of five on tap for North Texas from Dallas-based Little Foods Franchise Group LLC. Restaurants also are slated to open in Houston in November and in Austin early next year. Eighteen Krystals are scheduled to open in Texas by 2009.

Who needs Krystals when we have Whattaburger.
Sounds like a white castle...same thing?
Six Krystal Cheese Burgers and a Choclate shake does the trick for me every time!
Ping
I heard this on the radio recently. Didn't Krystal's used to be here years ago ??
Not down here where I am.
We did have a White Castle though. Sounds like they're about the same.
You know What, I am out here in Cali, doing a Iterim at a Church, even though home is in KC. I will get a double/double fries a nd a shake tomorro when I go to Victorville in your honor.
Sorry Krystal, nothing can beat the sliders from White Castle.
Similar, but being southern, better. You know how White Castles have those little hole in the patty? a Krystal is about the same size but solid meat. Fried in its own grease, then the bun is laid on top to soak up a little more. A shot of mustard, and some chopped onions, and ready to eat.
I'd be a lot happier about it if they spelled the name correctly. (I despise Kwik Kopy for the same reason.)
You're in Corpus? You poor thing. WHY?
I'm still waiting for an "In-N-Out" in Washington State... but I won't hold my breath. :) (Man those double stacks with fries are good.)
Krystals came here to South Carolina with many locations in the late 1980's and left after a couple of years. No idea what happened.
I've never seen so much hype in my life for a franchise expansion. What's the deal?
I know...it's tough being here [No, actually it's GREAT!].
We used to live over near Houston (your neck of the woods?), on the northern outskirts of Conroe. Born and raised there; all my kin from the woods around there - New Waverly and Coldspring.
I spent so much of my "goof off" time (vacations, long weekends, etc.) on the coast that I thought it'd be fun to actually live there.
So when we could, we moved down here. Now I live on the water on Padre Island. We fish a little nearly every day, even if it's off my deck out back; usually out on the water in the boat at least 2 to 3 times a week. And we'll make an extended "big fish" trip down the National Seashore a couple of times a month.
But I still wish there was a Krystals.....
You sound like you have an opinion about Corpus. Yes?
I agree. There's no comparison, and who the heck puts MUSTARD on burgers??? Ecch!
When we lived in Florida, the closest Krystal was about 4 hours away. Whenever I was in Daytona (visiting the speedway), I'd buy a big ol' bag of 'em to eat on the way home. I tolerated the mustard.
Now that we're back in the NY Metro area, White Castle is still a long trip (about 40 miles), but there's hope: A new White Castle is to be built about half an hour from home.
YIPPIE!!!
Admittedly I haven't spent much time there, but the parts of Corpus I can say I've experienced were kinda dirty and low-rent. (Much like I found El Paso.) Of course, this was in Corpus proper, not on the beach, and some time ago; sounds like it's improved.
Shouldn't it be Xenalite, Xenalight, Zenalight,...?!
Actually, there are still areas like that.
But the good places are great!
[You gonna do the Renaissance this year?]
