In the five years that I have been following Free Republic (includes pre-registration lurking time), my analytical skills have developed tremendously, thanks to the forum. Whereas in the past, I was inclined to accept the news reports without question, I now have a solid set of tools to use to analyze what is being said, plus I have the background information to know what is being left out. The level of sophisticated discourse taking place on Free Republic on a daily basis would put most of the "intelligentia" to shame.

It is great to know that Free Republic is having this same influence on others on a grander scale. It renews hope!
