Did Saddam Hussein use any of his ill-gotten billions filched from the United Nations oil-for-food program to help fund Al Qaeda?
Investigations have shown that the former Iraqi dictator grafted and smuggled more than $10 billion from the program that for seven years prior to Saddams overthrow was meant to bring humanitarian aid to ordinary Iraqis. And the Sept. 11 Commission has shown a tracery of contacts between Saddam and Al Qaeda that continued after billions of oil-for-food dollars began pouring into Saddams coffers and Usama bin Laden declared his famous war on the U.S.
Now, buried in some of the United Nations own confidential documents, clues can be seen that underscore the possibility of just such a Saddam-Al Qaeda link clues leading to a locked door in this Swiss lakeside resort.

Why do you think Koffee Anan is starting to say stupid things like he feels the war in iraq is was illegal? he's trying to divert attention from that scandal where His son, and mostly likely himself stuffed their pockets, along with France germany Russia and and all their buddys.
To: West Coast Conservative
If this pans out, and I hope it does, the loony left is going to go ballistic. The UN, Saddam and Al Qaida connected. This is gonna get good.

I'm afraid that even if there were links the rest of the world would just continue with the same old statement.."America deserved what happened on 9/11"......

I am sure that Rather and the crack CBS news team are all over this story....
To: West Coast Conservative
The MSM must kill this story since it justifies us going into Iraq.
They have made a big issue about not finding WMD, but going after Al Qaeda would be justification enough.

There was stuff coming out about it, then Koffee created this commission to investigate it, and the cone of silence came down, not much has been said for quite a while now.
Lots of shredded paper I'm sure.
Claudia Rosett, we love you!
I get a funny feeling that we have more evidence to this than we are letting on. As well as the WMDs.

Remember a couple of years ago when the anti-American left, in this country and around the world, were saying the embargo was killing Iraqis? Their claim was that 12 years of embargos had led to 2 million deaths. Hmmm maybe if the money had actually gone to feed people that wouldn't have happened.
Of course, since the war has ended the embargo we are hearing that "we should have waited longer", "given the inspections more time" or Kerry's fave "taken time to build a coalition". I suppose another year of waiting, another 160,000+ dead Iraqis is not so important now.
We could go on fighting the Iraqi "insurgents" for 10 years and not run up the number of deaths that the left claimed were caused by 1 year of the embargo.
I love throwing their own statistics in their faces.

There was stuff coming out about it, then Koffee created this commission to investigate it, and the cone of silence came down, not much has been said for quite a while now. That tactic sounds so familiar.

I was saving everything that was comming out, but wasn't really hitting MSM, I'm sure the WH has tons of stuff as well, maybe it will all come out again, aspecially with Annan saying stupid things again.
Why the hell is that guy still there? The UN is so corrupt it's beyond repair.
