Well said. Once again you have hit the nail on the head.

I think Gallup was one of the most, if not THE most, accurate poll on election day in 2000!If I remember correctly, their final pre-election poll, released a day or two before the election, was Bush 49, Gore 48.

Of course you have to read 3/4 of the way down the article to find the Gallup poll numbers.
This is what is commonly referred to as "burying your lead."

There once was a demoncrat scary,
Who went by the scary name kerry,
He said bring it on,
But then turned tail and ran,
Like a rat down a hole in a hurry.

I will split the difference though and say GWB may not be ahead by 14, but a 1-point lead is not accurate either. Let's say it's about 7 or 8...Agree, its' still close enough to make the RATS work harder to cheat/lie, we mustn't rest and/or look back...stay on our toes. :/

You two are really spending too much time attacking each other over nothing.
I do agree with you that we should not get overconfident, though I agree with stentor that clearly the trend in the polls (which is what is important) is going President Bush's direction at the moment. Does not mean that it won't, or can't change...just that as every day passes it gets harder for Kerry to reverse the trend.
We need to keep up the pressure, especially ensuring all those we know who are Bush supporters get registered, and then make sure we help get them to the polls. That is how this election will be won or lost, regardless of what any poll says.
I got thirteen relatives to change from Independent or Democrat to Republican over the past 3 elections...one of prouder accomplishment!

Kerry is the worst candidate I have ever seen--and that includes Dukakis, Mondale and Gore. He lacks connection with the common man in even the most carefully staged photo opportunities and is almost repellent in his arrogance. His shift to the left is a disaster and foreshadows a potentially historic wipeout.
Don't you think the warmth and pesonal charm of Theresa Heinz will help him ketchup in the polls? Sorry, it's difficult to avoid sarcasm when it comes to Kerry. If the Gallup Poll pitted Laura Bush against Theresa Heinz, the first lady would win 90-10%.

(1) "...The Washington Post quoted the New York Times reporter Jodi Wilgoren, who is following Kerry along his campaign, as saying of Kerrys elusiveness: 'I think its ridiculous. There are a lot of things happening in the country and the world, and the public has legitimate questions theyd like to ask. I dont know what hes afraid of. Hes criticized the president for not giving enough press conferences. And now we face daily arm-wrestling to ask a question....'" http://snipurl.com/9485

First of all, he attacked me first and called me a "goat meat eating" "defeatist" simply because i refuse to be 100 percent convinced that bush will win.
Perhaps you would defend yourself (as i did) if someone had chosen similar words to direct towards you

Don't get too excited... Hurricane Hillary is just getting reved up with the Clinton dirty-deeds brigade.
To: MMkennedy
Understand, although I actually meant to ask about the Harris poll and not the PEW. Do you know whom they polled? Was it weighted? Was it adults, likely, or registered?
I will go try and look it up myself, but if you or someone else already knows it would save me the trouble!

Women and minorities hardest hit.

No, I agree. I know that the dems lawyers are writing their briefs.
I saw yesterday where Kerry has already filed with the FEC about how to get the funding to contest the election.
Pretty amazing, huh?

Probably.

To: IMRight
Oh, I don't think the polls I posted are accurate, but it does reflect the media manipulation - the reason I posted it- I didn't think GW's poll numbers would go down in four days as they claimed when Kerry isn't doing anything right.
Thanks for your post. Good post, by the way.
