All these Polls out today seem to be going in two opposite directions. Some showing Bush pulling ahead in every state yet the Pew People are saying it is all even again? HUH!
Is the new Gallup coming out today?
"Well, a pessimist might say that the state polls lag the national horserace, but I won't say that."
OR a researcher might say that state polls -- completed during the same (or even LATER) time frames as the national polls -- provide more accurate data because they use larger more representative sample sizes!
Well put. Now you understand my reticence in the previous statement. You've buoyed my concerns. Thanks.
and Edwards said something about Kerry will never institute a draft at one of his stumps... Yep I bet you the DEMS are using FEAR on the young people that the President will institute a draft...
Nothing could cause a shift like that.
Nothing.
That alone shows the polls to be invalid.
Nice language for your first (and last) post here on FR, buh-bye.
sniff sniff.... hmmm... ozone....
There absolutely is such a campaign going on. This week-end I visited with a 15-year-old cousin who is a rabid Kerry supporter. She knows I am a Bush voter, and before she even said "hello" to me, she confronted me with the fact that Bush is going to implement a draft.
I asked how he would do that all by himself, and pointed out that the first politician in recent times to call for a draft was congressman Charles Rangel (D-Harlem). Didn't matter to her. She is sure that she is going to be drafted when she is 18 if Bush wins.
No, the Harris poll was all adults.
Buh-bye Troll
Well, SOMEONE should bounce your ass. :-)
Time will tell.
It's stupid to draft women at all, but the Politically Correct draft bill introduced by Rangel does just that.
And, yes, the Democrats are using the draft issue to try to drum up youthful votes.
CBS did a piece on it acting as if it was a valid concern and now the Dims are starting a whispering campaign that electing Bush will bring a new draft.
"I have been told that a Gallup/CNN poll out to be released on Friday has Bush 13 points ahead nationally."
from the Pew release...
"When the sample is narrowed to likely voters, Bush holds a statistically insignificant lead of 47%-46% in the second wave, down from a huge 54%-38% advantage he held in the first wave of interviews."
from the Harris poll...
"The poll shows Senator Kerry leading 48 percent to 47 percent among likely voters."
Like other polls, they start w/ a large group and scale down to LVs (or RVs). Their base is adults but the results being cited are LVs.
Isn't it dishonest to break the poll into two sections, then report the section half as the finding of the whole poll. What is, the Dan Rather of polls?
The Gallup poll is now expected on Friday?
