That's got to be the dumbest thing that Dan/CBS has ever tried out. LOL

CBS could begin its "transition to credibility" by hiring the entire staff of The Onion. Everyone knows The Onion makes things up out of whole cloth, but at least The Onion is entertaining.

"If CBS did rely on false documents, it would be a major blow for Rather, 70, nearing the end of his career after nearly a quarter-century as the network's top anchor. Coupled with the distant third-place ranking of the "CBS Evening News," there's some speculation it could hasten his departure."
HEY CBS -
Where were you ranked when Rather became your top anchor ?
... and isn't that just the perfect title for him considering where you will be when he finishes up ?
... not even at the bottom, but simply a punchline for Leno and Letterman

Breaking News!
This just in. In a stuned development, documents provided by a source who wishes to remain anonymous prove conclusively that Dan Rather of CBS News has stopped beating his wife and abusing drugs. We are satisfied the documents are in fact forged, but because of the seriesness of the charges we demand that Rather refute or confirm them.

It astonishes me that CBS allows Dan Rather to come out and state blithely that the documents are fake but accurate. Accuracy is not the issue! If major news organizations are allowed to dredge up filth on public figures, fabricate documents, create phony "news" stories to air on national television, they have a license to blackmail anyone. Why aren't there legal consequences?

# 7. SPONSOR A "NATIONAL GUARDSMEN ONLY" DAY AT SIX FLAGS.

It's too late. Besides, this crap is nothing but a bunch of lip service. CBS will gladly go with forged documents and lying "witnesses" anytime it fits their liberal political agenda. All Rathergate means to CBS is that they must be more careful to find better forgeries.

Stop wahtcing all CBS shows until Dan Rather is fired!!!! I won't be watching them AFTER he (and the CBS news editors) are fired.

Open memo to SeeBS: Want your credibility back? Go after J. F'n Kerry's military records - all of them - with the same vigor you've pursued this Bush/Guard non-story.
That would be a start...we should make this our battle cry now.
