"In a related development, White House press secretary Scott McClellan hinted that more documents regarding Bush's National Guard service may soon be released. Asked whether officials in the White House have seen unreleased documents, McClellan called that "a very real possibility." Other officials with knowledge of the situation said more documents had indeed been uncovered and would be released in the coming days."

here's the Article Drudge is talking about

Strong leaked the Kinko's info

http://www.washingtonpost.com/ac2/wp-dyn/A24635-2004Sep15?language=printer

excerpt

Robert Strong, who was one of three people interviewed by "60 minutes," said he was shown copies of the documents by CBS anchor Dan Rather and producer Mary Mapes on Sept. 5, three days before the broadcast. He said at least one of the documents bore a faxed header indicating it had been sent from a Kinko's in Abilene.

CBS has already been tipped that the Kinko's angle was coming. Read the Wash Post story, they are quoted in teh story talking about the Kinkos. Any cleanup that could be done probably already has been.

Burkitt was in the Texas Army National Guard.

Not to blow my own horn but I fingered Burkett for the forgeries the first time his name came up almost 3 nights ago.

I have only posted since last month, but have visited this site daily for many years.

See, I just don't understand that. How do you DO that?! How do people come here all the time for years and still manage to stay quiet?

I'm so jealous.

They probably thought by faxing them they would avoid mail fraud. The Post Office comes down HARD on mail fraud...federal offense!

Can you imagine anyone with much skill doing this bad a forgery? Doing it on Microsoft word? If you are 50 years old or older how do you fail to remember that computer printers are not typewriters? If you are in your 20s don't you research what was in use in 1973? Would I try to take a picture of a guy in 1973 by having him sitting in a 1976 car?

This whole thing does not ring true.

The more I think about this the more I think this must be some sort of setup or con act. I wonder if someone really hates Rather. Perhaps a former employee of CBS news. Could it be that CBS bought the story? Could CBS have had Rather's daughter offering to buy dirt on Dubya?Could someone think hey a half hour's work at Kinkos and a pitch to Rather's daughter, would be followed by some cash from Rather? What else explains the story? Could Kerry have been offering bucks for dirt on Bush and an enterprising Word user... decided to try to make a few bucks?... and they fell for it?

What if the Kerry Campaign was trying to buy dirt on Bush .. and bought a forgery. What if the Kerry people vouched for the fake Documents being valid. Would Rather believe a top Kerry staffer over his own hired experts?

It appears Rather fell for some sort of Con, and is now between a rock and a hard place.

Something has to explain CBS buying these very sloppy forgeries. The source had to be very very believable to CBS
