CBS finds somebody to back them up!
2 in the morning????
Lock em up... and throw away the key....
Marian Carr Knox, former secretary to Lt. Col. Jerry Killian
Believe it or not the RATs are putting the country through all this and destroying CBS because they want to prove (strike that, "insinuate") that W used coke back in the 70s. I kid you not.
She said he always called her by another name, "...his father's secretary's name."
BVW has a theory about this woman and rich people.
Well I will! She was lying when she said the other pilots talked about Bush missing drills, "they didn't like it". NO way would those guys bad mouth another pilot in front of the Old Man's secretary! In jest maybe, but military people, especially officers do NOT discuss such things that might get repeated to the boss, or that might sound disloyal to the unit.
The old gal reminded me of Newt Gingrich's Mother, when Connie Chung "chatted her up" and duped her into adding something extra to the interview. This woman might have typed up memos for her boss, but this is the same boss she said, "had fun with Bush", "liked him".
Dan coaxed and cajoled, and he lead her into the answers he had already prepped her to give. She was well prepared, which I suspect is what took so long today! Did you notice how she prefaced her most critical statements with "I want to say.....", or "I want to tell you......". The statements that followed that preface were always nasty digs at Bush, things that cannot be proven, aren't even relevant. We know she hates Bush, thinks he was "selected not elected", said he wasn't fit to lead, so those "extra" things she "wanted to say", were invented.
I think CBS/Rather is banking on the fact that republicans won't badmouth this little old lady, that they will be hurt in the polls if they do. She is perfectly willing to be used by CBS, but CBS was so blatantly editing out the other comments she has made to Texas newspapers. I'm willing to bet that as she was prepped for this taping, her story got progressively more negative toward Bush.
I've known mean old women like this, haven't you? They love to dish the dirt and that's what she was doing with Dan. Guaranteed, if Bush were a democrat, her tale to Dan would have been the exact opposite in tone.
Pompous, arrogant Dan Rather! I give it one news cycle before this performance tonight is thoroughly discredited by the media.
Rather spent 4 years working on this story. Why??? Becasue he wanted to discredit G. W. Bush. I'd say, Rather is even more obsessed with bringing down the president than this little old woman.
How can Rather abuse an elderly woman like this?
The ends justify the mean!
Communism/Clintonism 101!
Someone may have covered this, but it sounded to me as the old lady was implying they were recreated to protect bush.
This sounds strangely like what Rather (Watch something else) was pushing earlier uhmmm.
Dan did not even ask her if it could be his signature on those memo;s. What secretary would not know her boss's signature. Journalist and reporters NEVER ask questions I want answers to. I wonder if they are just stupid, or they already know the answer.
Such "contracts" will not keep her from having to speak before a congressional hearing.
Seriously. This is a case of fraud. The MSM will continue to trot out hearsay evidence of "re-creations" and further push the fraud below the noise level that sits at the bottom of the average voters short term memory unless they are called before congress and forced to reveal the source of the forgeries.
Do fortune tellers need a license in New York or Texas?
How about "FEELERS"?
I feel this, I feel that.........
Is this a Peabody or an Oscar for old Dan?
CBS, when it looked like they were at the bottom of the gutter, just went into the sewer.
I would suppose that this 86 year old lady has been well paid and can't wait to get to the bank AND ALREADY HAS AN ATTORNEY.
Link at National Review in #407
Last week, Knox said she had no firsthand knowledge of Bush's time with the Texas Air National Guard, although she did recall a culture of special treatment for the sons of prominent people, such as Bush and others.
But she told The New York Times: "We did discuss Bush's conduct and it was a problem Killian was concerned about," Mrs. Knox said. "I think he was writing the memos so there would be some record that he was aware of what was going on and what he had done."
One week she's saying she had no firsthand knowledge of Bush's service, the next she's saying she discussed it with Killian.
Knox, I believe Marian.....
Yup -- Nashville and Knoxville - delayed until after all the late shows....
Will you watch and see if we're correct in our characterizations?
And listen to see if he ever asks her if SHE typed memos with that stuff in them.
"But her story seems, at this point, to be unreliable."
You are very kind. BTW, in case you missed it, Carl Bernstein said, on Matthews, that the White House endorsed the Swift Boat ads as evidence of his statement that the WH had been the dirtiest of all in this current campaign.
No one in the WH said the memo were fake
But Laura made a comment yesterday that she believed they were
I'd like to know how many "takes" that took.
I mean, if she's in New York -- flew there special for the show and all -- why not have her on live?
