Watch this 86 year old retired Secretary get hounded by the media and end up having a stroke and die.

It'll get spun that the VRWC caused her death.

Rather should be beaten with a cane pole, tarred and feathered and run out of town on a rail for what he has done.

I missed the beginning of 60 Mintues. Did they even have anyone to talk about the actual validity of the documents, or where they could have come from? Or why they could have received altered documents? Isn't that the whole reason they are defending themselves? They are only pushing their defense of discrediting Bush.

If the documents are a re-creation the the signatures are, by definition, forgeries and a Federal crime.

Where the heck ARE the Feds?

As to the "order" to take a physical. If it was standard procedure to type out an order for the physical then it should be a simple task to come up with similar orders to other pilots right?

If she was the genuine item we would have heard from her in 1999.

No, no, no....haven't you read Kitty Kelley's book yet? Barbara Bush would have had this woman killed years ago! The CIA would have done it. After all, they ginned up the Anthrax attacks so they could kill the National Enquirer reporter and get his pictures of George Bush doing drugs! No way the Bush family would have allowed this old bat to be running around talking to Dan Rather!

(Hey, this is fun! Let's call in to the talk shows tomorrow with stuff like this! Drive the liberals NUTS!)

Well, that is why I wanted to know if she said she typed a memo ordering Bush to take a physical. That would demonstrate that she was a liar. Why? Because that would not be a memo in Killian's personal lock box, but a Guard record, which would be odd if lost while Bush received it. Bush, when he is asked, stating that he received no such order, I think would wrap it up. He in order to satisfy Dan can also answer whether he got notice that he was being bounced from the guard or suspended or whatever, because he did not take a physical. He can just say no.

Re-Creations?

So that's what they're calling forgeries, these days?

This is my first experience with this, so forgive me if I mess up! I wanted to tell you that here in Knoxville, TN, the local CBS station pre-empted 60 Minutes for a Billy Graham film. I don't know if this was scheduled or perhaps damage control or ? The film began 30 minutes before the hour, and at a couple minutes after the hour there was a message saying that 60 Minutes would be shown in its entirety at 2:07 tomorrow morning. Anyone have a clue about this?

I guess it all depends on what the meaning of "forgery" is.

Also -they were very liberal with the cut and paste job.. I noticed at least three major cuts in the film. I guess if the coaching didn't work they could just splice in the answer they wanted.

And I love the look on Blather's face as she talks about the physical that every man had to have ON HIS BIRTHDAY>>> Hello!!!!!.. this memo was not even close to his birthday. She had not seen these memos. So she wants us to believe someone, who knew about them, wrote them in such a way as to hide their identify.. SO WHAT THE HELL IS TRUE ABOUT THESE MEMOS?!?!!

This last interview will only fuel people- not hush them up.

Has anyone else looked to see how many times this thread has been viewed? It is a whole big bunch.... People are watching you - you lying sack- Dan Rather. And please remember we are not as stupid as you looked tonight!

UH, SOMETHING'S FUNNY ABOUT THIS 'SWEET OLD LADY' [09/15 08:50 AM]

The Kerry Spot, as a rule, doesn't like criticizing 86-year-old former Air National Guard secretaries. But there is something very odd about the current statements of Marian Carr Knox, former secretary to Lt. Col. Jerry Killian.

As the Houston Chronicle noted:

Knox said she decided to report her recollection of the time period to the media after hearing White House press officials say the information in the memos was false.
Did anyone in the White House say this? I thought they were standing with their rote response, "The President was honorably discharged... The President was honorably discharged..."

Further down, we read:

Last week, Knox said she had no firsthand knowledge of Bush's time with the Texas Air National Guard, although she did recall a culture of special treatment for the sons of prominent people, such as Bush and others.
But she told The New York Times: "We did discuss Bush's conduct and it was a problem Killian was concerned about," Mrs. Knox said. "I think he was writing the memos so there would be some record that he was aware of what was going on and what he had done."

One week she's saying she had no firsthand knowledge of Bush's service, the next she's saying she discussed it with Killian.

Knox also claims in the Houston Chronicle Killian "kept copies to protect himself," contradicting the widow and the son. She says Killian didn't type, that she typed for him - but says she never typed a memo like this. So how did a memo "like this, in this vein, reflecting these opinions," etc. get created? Her contention that the memos reflected Killian's opinion seems more like an assertion or wishful thinking than anything supported by the rest of the facts. Remember, in the verified documents, Killian says nice things about Bush.

I am sure Knox is a very nice 86-year-old woman. But her story seems, at this point, to be unreliable.

If it wasn't taped, it was at the very least, rehearsed several times.

In the end, she verified that were not authentic. Everything else was her feelings.

Would like to know who else she is connected to.
