Hey, smear the old lady--she's a liberal partisan who has changed her story to help Rather and make Bush look bad. Go get her--to hell with her age. She's a big girl. She should know her story will be scrutinized and refuted by others.

Good, because, we know that Dan, the anchorman, will NOT be reporting about them. This lady contidicted herself in this interview that was conducted presumably all day long.....

Rather's trying to change the subject, but I wonder if he even knows that she's done two interviews with Texas papers and told two different stories in each of them.
CBS' intent is to drag this out so that people get tired of it and forget about it.

I'm with you; this was amusing up until tonight; now I am furious that he is contending with this FRAUD.

Consider that if her "testimony" is that she wrote actual memos with content the same as the forgeries, then wouldn't she be an accessory to the forgery by providing the gist of the document to the forger? I'm not saying she did this knowingly although that must be considered a possibility. I wonder what would come of a deposition since she and the dead Colonel are the only two people in the world that would have known the content of the real memos she purports to have typed!
Wow, that was the most corrupt thing I have EVER seen. Dan needs to go. P.S. why didn't he use her to autheniticate the memos before he ran them?

Exactly. CBS hasn't had ONE person on who questions the documents or the facts.
I don't think they have to attack the old lady, but a lie detector test is certainly in order.
I felt like she was coached through this and she has already made contrary comments at other
times that she may have a hard time passing that test.
If a biased 86 year old woman is the best Dan Rather can do, its not good enough. They just dug the hole deeper over at CBS NEWS tonight.
When did Stoudt retire? Rather referenced the 1973 memo and the secreatary affirmed that Stoudt was putting on the pressure. Didn't he retire 18 mos. earlier?
The best response is simply to note that her story is not consistent with the facts, and leave it at that. Spare the contumely for Dan Rather and CBS for using her to save their skins.
I've never seen anything like it. Rather needs to be in cell next to Sandy Burglar.
