Typical phase to ground distribution voltages are on the over of 7,000 Volts, depending upon the location. This is definately nothing one should try to touch with their hands, with a dry wood pole or with anything.
I have a set of distribution rated Voltage insulated work gloves, that I will ocassionally use while doing inspection work on things that are not suppose to be energized and that I have checked to be not energized before I get near them, but that frighten me, none-the-less. Those gloves are really thick rubber.
What did the guy have against Polish people?
"...after crashing his sport utility vehicle..."
it looks like the reporters are beginning to get tired of being ridiculed for blaming the SUV every time! This reporter at least got the cause right...the driver!
Yesterday was a wild day for accidents. I was northbound on the Lodge at noon and the southbound was completely shut down for a motorcycle accident.
Later a car went airborn on 696 and dangled off the edge of an embankment, and the driver undid his seatbelt and fell to the freeway and was killed.
Later on a small plane crashed into a hanger at City Airport on takeoff.
This article does not seem to pass the SUV test, as per Rush. The SUV test simply states that all media stories must have the SUV actually causing havoc not the driver. The story is written in such a way that it seems the driver helplessly sits behind the wheel without any control of the dreaded SUV beast. An example would read : "SUV smashes pole/ Bewildered driver electrocuted by SUV/SUV wrecks town"
But I had to post a snip of Bowling For Soup's song "1985"
Her yellow SUV, is now the enemy
Looks at her average life
And nothing, has been, alright
Since Bruce Springsteen, Madonna
Way before Nirvana
There was U2, and Blondie
And music still on MTV
Her two kids, in high school
They tell her that she's uncool
But she still preoccupied
With 19, 19, 1985
My guess is that they're not of steel belted radial construction, either.
---what???----no "assault type" weapon involved?----
Hey, this is Motown.
The reporters there aren't gonna stick their necks in a noose no matter how politically correct it may be elsewhere.
The worst zapping I ever got was all three phases of 480 while holding onto a steel support brace. I did it twice not knowing what happened the first time. It's odd. Every time describe this instance, I can see everything that happened at the time. I can see the outside of the building I was working in, I can my co-worker and remember it as if it happened yesterday. It really happened 25 years ago.
Did you gain any super powers after your zapping?
This story can't be accurate, as it gives the misleading impression the driver was responsible for the SUV's homicidal behaviour.
