FReeper Research Needed: What Evidence is There that the DNC or Kerry Gave CBS the Forged Docs?

Posted on 09/14/2004 5:42:26 AM PDT by jmstein7

Once again, there is an opportunity for FReeper research to make a big difference in this election.

If you have any evidence on the following questions, please post it to this thread.

1) Anything that suggests that the DNC is the source of the forged memos, i.e. that the DNC provided CBS with the forged Guard documents

2) Anything that suggests that the Kerry campaign is the source of the forged memos, i.e. that Kerry's camp provided CBS with the forged Guard documents

If we can get this evidence and make the connection, and get it out to the 'blogosphere, this election will be over.

Start digging!

FOX news said this morning that ABC (I think he said ABC) ALSO received hte documents, and that ABC knows where the documents came from.

What I want to know is,WHY DOES THE KERRY CAMPAIGN KEEP GETTING A PASS ON KERRY NOT RELEASING HIS MILITARY RECORDS?

THE AMERICAN PEOPLE SHOULD NOT VOTE FOR SOMEONE WHO IS HIDING THE FACTS FROM THE AMERICAN PEOPLE.

THERE SHOULD BE A MONTRA EVERY DAY FROM ALL REPUBLICAN TALKING HEADS - WHERE IS KERRY'S MILITARY RECORDS?

"I suspect that 1) the DNC was behind the forgeries, and 2) they have covered their tracks."

Do tell?

Covered their tracks as well as they made the forgeries?

Shouldn't be long for that to unravel. ;)

The exact same misreferences to Air Force Manuals on flight medicals, appeared on the Kerry website in April, as appeared in the CBS Killian memos.

Also a story in the Boston Globe about possible assistance to Lloyd Bentson's son appeared when Bentson was running as Dukakis' Veep nominee. That story stated, erroneously, that "Staub retired in 1975." The forged Bush memos assumed that Staub was still on the job in 1973. The connection between those two campaigns is John (?) Sasso. He was Dukakis' Campaign Manager then, and is helping to run Kerry's effort now.

Both of these points are circumstantial evidence. But as Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes once wrote, "Sometimes circumstantial evidence can be compelling, as when you find a trout in the milk."

They were created by some 20 something year old staffer who did not even consider that they did things differently 30 years ago.

The "author" angle is interesting, but should not become the object of the research. The facts as summarized by "The Prowler" are damaging to both the DNC and the Kerry campaign, no matter who authored the documents in the first place.

Even if the documents came from outside the DNC and the Kerry campaigns, the fact that they had them for weeks, suspected authenticity, and still passed them along is evidence of shady character on the part of the DNC and Kerry campaigns.

I'd prefer attention to be on the DNC and Kerry campaign, than on Bill Burkett, for example, if Mr. Burkett is found out to be the author.

The forgeries were so flagrant and obvious it almost seems that somebody deliberately tried to trap CBS and the Kerry campaign with it into looking like idiots. The first suspect has to be Clinton blackops.

Help! Freerepublic.com is on the front page of the St. Petersburg Times today but not on their web site (hmmmmmmm).

I want to congratulate FR on my home page. WHERE'S THE ORIGINAL POST by buckhead? I want to hyperlink back to that thread.

Thanks in advance and CONGRATS! Our paper is sooooooo left and evidently, maybe hurricane related, the SP Times had no "time" to check what they got from the LA Times via the NY Times.

I thought that Newsweek said that a CBS producer said they were from the Kerry Campaign.

FOX news said this morning that ABC (I think he said ABC) ALSO received hte documents, and that ABC knows where the documents came from.

USA Today reported that it received the documents independently from the WH-distributed copies of CBS-supplied documents.

I didn't hear the Fox report, so ABC might be a third indepedent recipient.

Hold on, hold on!

We have to give the Kerry campaign time to fire someone, generate a story about how that person was an RNC operative, who planted the documents in the DNC, spun the story, and sent them on to CBS.

In a year, that person gets a huge payment from the Ruckus society.

Didn't mean to borrow your thread looking for the original post but let me think about the DNC... Who's dem Jordan who in the LA Times and NYT called FR a bunch of right wing lunatics?

Maybe Jordan has ties to Carville or McAuliffe and they sent him out to smear Free Republic. I think Carville and McAuliffe, Begala are hiding in the shadows and sending out new spokespersons to cover for them.

Actually, I'm kind of wondering what effect it would have if we started hyping a story that the documents were actually forged in house, by CBS. We could provide all sorts of reasonable speculation (just the way the MSM does) complete with motives and opportunities. Once we had developed this to the point where an MSM outlet would give it some play, I think you would find that CBS would soon retire Rather and call an independent inquiry. While they don't mind stonewalling as long as the suspected cuprit is someone outside the network, they couldn't withstand speculation that they themselves might have been the source - too damaging to let stand.

New York Times quoted a dem that Free Republic was a bunch of right wing lunatics in my local paper today. Sounds like their first objective is to discredit Free Republic. When that fails, they will start eating their own.

They're right... there are a few lunatics on here from time to time. They sign up for a day, post something inane and nonsensical.

We can probably expect to see more racist comments from new posters... All DU operatives.

"Their tracks are covered"

If this is a 1) Forged Government Document and 2) has been carried across state lines then why is not the FBI involved at this time?

We have to give the Kerry campaign time to fire someone

Someone should check and see if anyone has voluntarily/involuntarily left the sKerry campaign in the last month, then cross those names with sources used in previous Rather stories

I believe the Transitive Theory of Equality makes the case:

The DNC are liars and crooks.
Liars and crooks forge documents.
Ergo, the DNC forged the documents.
