Howlin started a Live Thread September 10, 2004 to see what Dan would say. He told us his report was the facts and nothing but the facts.
Well, it is now Monday, the 13th. What will Dan say today?
Mr. Staudt had better watch his back.
First we take it to the Florida Supreme Court ... ;-)
LTNS. THis will play out between the various media arms. It won't go away. The print media is on it, and it is a HUGE deal for CBS to have brought this out and tried to make hay with it. Likewise, DNC using the same phony information.
The only alternative is for the media and the DNC to drop all discussion of Bush's ANG service. Then this forgery issue might sit on the back burner until after the election. But I don't see that happening. This is going to mushroom sometime in thext three weeks, tops.
Now, you'll recall that my predictions are unreliable.
Me neither. Dont have faintest idea where to start on researching something like that.
Good point about the integrity levels. Still.... pretty amazing thing to rat out one's own father. She must be dealing with some pretty heavy issues there.
There is absolutely no reason anyone has put forth to believe that these memos are real.Your assignment, should you decide to accept it, is to convince the MSM of this fact.
Well, yes -- apparently some forgers do! LOL!
For some reason the phrase;
"There's still hope" comes to mind.
And, that's before applying Occam's Razor to the series of unlikely events ...Bingo!
precisely. whoever made the forgery was, in fact, accustomed to typing on a manual typewriter and using the lowercase l instead of the 1. which you can do perfectly well in msft word. this one was a fart-flavored puff of smoke, but cbs aired it in hope that the odor would drive everyone from the story. in short, they figure their viewers are as stupid as the people at cbs news are. which is probably true, alas.
OK...I can dream, can't I?
Actually, their assignment is to convince me otherwise. (Well, CBS in particular, since they're the ones standing by this nonsense.) They have not. Unless/until they do, not much more need be said.
"only that it could have been done on a typewriter"
Yes, you are right and that was my intended meaning although I didn't make it clear. I also don't believe it can be reproduced on a typewriter, but cbs should be challenged, although impossible, to do just that.
My point in raising this issue is that the CBS expert (of the day) can say with all confidence and veracity (and not fear being labelled a liar) that the technology was available (the kool-aid drinker will stop listening here)...Of course, the technology was not readily available, nor was it even remotely available, neither was it available to those with tight budgets (such as the Texas Air National Guard)...points missed by the kool-aid drinker who has had his (limited) intellectual curiosity satisfied.
This has been a tough year for VIACON -- the Opie and Anthony fine, the problems with Howard Stern, The Reagans, Ms. Boob, the Spike TV/Spike Lee brouhaha, the resignation of the LEGENDARY Mel Karmazin, the spin-off of the suddenly obsolete Blockbuster, continuing woes at Paramount -- and through it all, like the flag over Ft. McHenry, SUMNER'S STILL THERE. What's one more problem when you've got ATTITUDE? (Never mind that you merely BOUGHT it.) Let us not forget that SUMNER'S as hard-core a liberal Democrat as they come, which means he could well be nodding at Danno's fibs in agreement, provided he doesn't nod off first.
No, we're talking two IMMORTALS. Because of SUMNER, DANNO STAYS.
It's probably a shot in the dark, but could this be our Bill Glennon http://web.uvic.ca/~cass/sas-y2k.html
Another great contact....
CBS television shows. Raymond, CSI, Letterman, even the syndicated shows on your local affiliates. Make a conscious (?sp) decision not to watch those shows and notify the producers. Tell them why we are not watching.
The entertainment division is seperate from the news division, but there is no rule stopping us from squeezing Rather's balls from ALL directions.
Well maybe somebody ought to pull an OJ number on CBS
"if the font don't fit, you must quit"
That would be great,if it didn't seem like the Left has a lock on Hollyweird too:(
HAHA!! Good one!
Contact the FCC...let them know how concerned you are for the country given our PUBLIC AIRWAVES can be so easily abused by political partisanship. Let them know how offended you are that CBS, having been given the privilege to serve the American people by using high standards of journalistic integrity have failed to live up to this standard and can no longer be trusted to do so...Suggest the present corporate leadership must have their license revoked before you can begin to trust anything that comes over the CBS airwaves (and all its affiliates, outlets, etc.) again.
