In case it's has escaped your attention, Dan Rather and the MSM, at least based on my review of it, has marched on. The forged documents have become yesterday's news.

What sould have been a defining moment in this year's presidential election is being ignored by the MSM, and by default, the general population.

We know, beyond a reasonable doubt, that CBS news used forged documents in its politically driven attempt to discredit President Bush's Air National Guard service. And we know that, to their credit, bloggers not only identified those documents as forgeries, but exposed them as forgeries. Initially it seemed as the the MSM would sieze upon this as a story. But, as of today, 13SEP94, the story has all but dissappeared from the mainstream media.

Dan Rather, after having given a pathetic defence of the documents, marches on, while the bloggers continue to preach to the choir.

The forged documents represented an opportunity to attack the MSM, DNC and Kerry/Edwards ticket on a number of levels. Specifically, their general incompetence and fundemental dishonesty. How can you trust the Kerry/Edwards ticket to succeed in the War on Terror when they can't even orchestrate the distribution of forged documents that fail to eclispe the abilities of most 7th graders. And how can we trust you someone who sinks to such desperate and dishonest measures in an effort to save a philosophically failed campaign.

Yet, the issues surrounding the memos have gone largely unreported. Why? Because the few media outlets conservatives have dropped the ball on this one.

Matt Drudge has decided to focus his attentions on Ivan. Hey Matt, I can get all the weather information I need from my second rate, network affiliate weatherman. Why don't you play to your strengths, emphasize politically charged charged stories that the MSM avoid.

And then there is Fox News, grade F. As a network news organization you never, EVER, miss an opportunity to increase your ratings at the expense of your competitiors. Fox should have put together an hour special on CBS's report for broadcast of Sunday night. For god's sake, the bloggers had done 90% of your research for you. And, you should have advertised it during the Sunday football games. Instead, Fox News seemed to content itself having dimwits like Shepard Smith, et al, repeat the AP wire story that, "CBS stands behind its sources."

So, my friends, Dan Rather will continue espouse his view of the world despite all your efforts.

Well, I gotta go. I have a BioChem exam this afternoon. And BioChem is a lot harder than politics.

Isn't it 2-0? The MSM also just won the Sandy Berger battle. The real test is not what people think who spend two hours a day on the internet.

The true test is the fella in the office who watches six sitcoms a day or the sister-in-law only reads the local paper.

Ask one of these two "what did Sandy Berger do a while ago?" or "did you hear about the forged documents?"

The have no idea. Yet they both know that Dan Quayle misspelled "potato."

The average dolt still has no idea that the Rathergate dispute even exists. To win, we need a way to reach the dolts. We need a way to make dolts care about this.

I have watched FOX News nearly nonstop on this, CBS News since the story broke and have read AP wires and too many threads at FR to count.

I asked you, in a nice manner, if you know how ABC or NBC reported this on their news this evening.

Again, why don't you drop you whining to me and this member who started this thread and get back to the business of exposing Kerry as a traitor and the MSM as a fraud.

Here's my take on what's going on:

The 42nd President (Clinton) desecrated the office of the President. His party pulled every slimy trick to hold on to power through the impeachment - putting party over country. He lied, they swore to it. They cheated.

Then the 2000 election - almost a mathematical impossibility in how evenly divided the electorate was.. Lawsuits and every attempt possible for the democrats to again cheat the recount in Florida. It ends up in the Supreme Court and is decided. Independent counts by the MSM after confirm the decision.

From that point on, a confederacy banded within the DNC to bear false witness against the 43rd President. He did nothing really to respond to the lies they told.. he just did his job.

Now we are in the election cycle again. The democrats have nominated the most loathsome character ever to seek the office of President. Courageous veterans get together and write Unfit for Command - and try to deliver the TRUTH about John Kerry via the MSM. John O'Neill was not invited on CBS or NBC. As far as I'm concerned, they violated the public trust. CNN's Carville tried to humiliate John O'Neill.. he treated a Veteran with contempt. The DNC calls these proud Veterans LIARS. The MSM/DNC agenda was obvious.

If there is royalty in this country, it is those that have served their country honorably in time of war. Again, the DNC is violating high principals.

Now where does it go... Kerry and his DNC gangsters ignore the advice of the 42nd POTUS and begin LIES and SLANDER against the sitting President. A President that has restored the dignity to the highest office.

The MSM is the propaganda apparatus of the DNC - it is under their control. The New Media belongs to We the People.

CBS, the evil eye network, conspires to put forth a LIE - bear false witness during the election cycle.... against Clinton's advice... just for a petty 'gotcha'. Look who called them on it - US! And the debate of the charges is stopped dead. Bush's service record cannot be discussed - remember every DNC talking head was scripted to make this an issue... stopped cold

All this is MUCH higher than Dan Rather. This situation is being discussed at the highest levels of the DNC, CBS and Viacom and who knows who else.

Don't expect changes overnight with this - Dan Rather is not the prize - the MEDIA is the prize. The MSM has broken their trust, has been discredited and the power has passed to us - on 9/11/04.

Yes, that's exactly what I'm talking about. I've read a lot of insightful stuff on FR the last two days. The test truly lies in getting those thoughts to "the fella in the office who watches six sitcoms a day or the sister-in-law only reads the local paper."

I'm frustrated, becuase the outlets I turn to seem to be dropping the story.

As I said in my original post, I believe this is one of the most important moments in this years election.

I agree with most of your original post. The fix is in BIG TIME on election 2004 when it comes to the print and network media.

If the attacks were on Clinton from fraudulent documents peddled by FOXNEWS then NBC, ABC, LA Times, Washington Post, NYT, Time Mag and all the other usual suspects would be SCREAMING AT THE TOP OF THEIR LUNGS about: "where did the documents come from", "were the republicans behind it", "it's a crime to slander a sitting president with forgeries."

The response from these MSM outlets over this farce has been anemic.

BUT this isn't over, Dan is winning the fight right now, and he may come out on top... but it's not over yet.


PS - I didn't vote for Bush on 2000(calm down, i didn't vote for Gore either), but i'm so pi$$ed at the way the MSM is whitewashing this mess...
