Cheats, liars, and media monopolies beware!
Too late, we've seen the man behind the curtain.
Matt Drudge? How about Freerepublic?
MAGNITUDE!!!!
not magnanimity.
What an absolute feeling of relief to see the MSM getting it's asses handed to them.
For those of you keeping track at home, this is the 5-stage process for Dan Rather and CBS, as they deal with their loss of credibility over memogate.
Right now, Dan's at stage 1. His willingness to compromise on some issues relating to the memos' authenticity shows he's moving to stage 2. I'm sure his move through stages 3 and 4 will not be shared with the public, with the exception of a possible on-air outburst against "the right-wing internet crazies" or something similar.
Finally, Dan will get to stage 5, and retire.
Los Angeles Times No Disputing It: Blogs Are Major Players.
Wow! Norm Crosby's writing under a pseudonym! I'm really pleased somebody had the magnitude to give him a shot at this!
Yes, it seems Michael Hussey leaves out a mention of what happened first.
Information travels so quickly today that, thanks to Matt Drudge, millions of Americans were hours ahead of the major news networks on this story . . . .
The Drudgereport just happens to be a major, informal gatekeeper of the news at the moment.
The effect of media bias is to disenfranchise me. The biased report is presented with the intention, conscious or unconscious, of changing votes. When it suceeds in changing even one vote, it disenfranchises me.
If I were black or Indian or a card carrying member of an otherwise sanctified group, the force of law would be applied relentlessly to redress my franchise. But conservatives are not a group which is recognized by the law. So the government will provide no relief. It is idle to expect the author of the disenfrancisement, the very media which published the bias and delights in my disenfranchisement, to act to save my vote.
Consider a fraudulent document, purporting to be of federal government provenance, which libels Jesse Jackson. One can only imagine the sturm and drang from the media and the energy of the Department of Justice. But, alas, our President is a white conservative Texan. I am surprised that there is not a bounty on him.
The stranglehold on the news by the liberal MSM is finally over. Kind of like removing a stone in your shoe that's been there 30 years - it feels great!
It was quite magnitudinous, to be sure.
Bloggers' hoax theory over Bush military service memos ...challenges mainstream media
Thankyou for bringing that to my detention. Capitulation can prevent many an excommunication.
I'll always remember the night years ago in NYC when I met Dan rather on the street, punched him in the nose, and asked, "What's the frequency, Kenneth?"
That was you? Remit me to give you a standing ovulation!
