DNC TO LAUNCH FRESH ATTACK ON BUSH GUARD DUTY:  WILL RAISE QUESTIONS ABOUT 1978 CAMPAIGN LIT

**Exclusive**

Faster than a CBS eye can blink, dogged Dems are set to take to the airwaves anew hoping to keep questions about President Bush's National Guard duty in play, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.

Candidate Kerry apparently has rejected former President Clinton's advice not to get further locked in a 2004 Vietnam quagmire.

"George W. Bush's campaign literature claimed that he 'served in the U.S. Air Force.' The only problem? He didn't,"  slams a new DNC press release set for distribution.

Dems will attempt to increase the heat on Bush ahead of his planned Tuesday address before The National Guard Association gathering in Las Vegas.

In 2000, Bush opened his National Guard Association speech: "General, I am reporting for duty."

MORE

Kerry plans to speak to the group on Thursday, but he personally hold back questioning Bush's service, sources explain.

The coordinated nationwide effort this week by the DNC has been code-named "Project Fortunate Son."

"George Bush has a clear pattern of lying about his military service," DNC Communications Director Jano Cabrera blasts in the new release. "From 1978 to the present day, George Bush has refused to tell voters the truth about his service. It's time for the President to come clean."

"Flyers distributed to Texas voters during Bush's failed Congressional race say 'he served in the U.S. Air Force and the Texas Air National Guard.' But according to Air Force officials, Air National Guardsmen are not counted as members of the active-duty Air Force."

Hahaha! Karl Rove could not have prayed for a stupider bunch of opponents. That they will be wasting the last six weeks of their faltering campaign spending money on ads about W's service in the TANG is just too incredible. I predict the President will be ahead by 15 points by Nov. 1 if they keep this up.

The DNC is really, really playing dirty politics. It's easy to tell the con man Clinton got involved.
The RNC has never questioned Kerry's Vietnam era records. They've been more than kind about the whole thing.
The DNC is a bottom feeding terrorist organization compared to the too often polite RNC folks.

At the Veterans for Truth rally this afternoon one of the speakers mentioned Harkins' own record (or lack thereof).

How is he able to be the attack dog on this??? And, isn't he the one who was the greatest defender of Clinton, who left the country to avoid serving????

That Boston Globe Sissy, Little Tommy Oliphant, ended his column today by saying: "As for Bush's Guard service, stay tuned."

OMG, I hope that he is talking about this garbage. It will once again show the American people how desperate these trash are.

Hi 1st Sgt.

First let me thank you and all the brave men and women in your unit for your service to your country. I am SOOO ANGRY about statements coming out of the DNC about my fellow Guardsman. My unit used to be based at Midway airport in Chicago. I remember the Illinois Air National Guard had the upper floor of the Amory and we had the hanger and the lower floor. I know my old unit moved downstate and then I believe it was folded into another unit. (not sure on that)

Well whats good for the goose is good for the gander..

from johnkerry.com

John Kerry enlisted in the Navy in 1966. After completing Naval Officer Candidates School, he began his first tour of duty on the USS Gridley, a guided-missile frigate in the waters adjacent to Vietnam. In 1968, John Kerry began his second tour of duty, and volunteered to serve on a Swift Boat, one of the most dangerous assignments of the war. Swift Boats patrolled the narrow inlets and canals around the Mekong Delta "to draw fire and smoke out the enemy," according to the The Boston Globe.

OK, Who has posting privileges over at DU? We must ask them what the difference is between Kerrys Campaign site, and a GWB Campaign poster from 20 years ago. He was actually the Naval Reserve, Not the Navy.

You know, if this was used in campaign literature this year...then maybe it should garner slight interest. However, it was so long ago, Bush has authorized release of all of his records, we all have made our decisions regarding his military service, and this means absolutely nothing.

It is really all so pathetic. I almost feel sorry for the demonrats.

They don't have a choice. They know what's coming soon with the swifties and others - they make no secret of it. It's anticipatory strikes to muddy the waters.

BINGO

What they are doing by bringing up this nonesense dead horse ANG crap is keeping the swift vets on the sidelines.

The rally today has hardly had a mention so far in any MSM media. It's preventing the true dead beat fake war hero kerry and his fraud from being discussed and exposed.

The question isn't wether or not Bush is capable leader, it should be if kerry could be. Bush has already proven he is.
Wether or not Bush didn't brush his teeth one morning while in the TANG is a non- issue.

"Look at the assignment for 2Oct.73 - 21NOV74

It shows that Bush has assignment in Denver. Which is what a General said on CNN last week.

If Bush owed extra drills....they were done during this period

Sharp eyes, Brat!!! Brings up a most interesting point,

I was released from the Army early in 1973 (tons of people were let out early in 1973) because I wanted to statrt school in fall semester. I was let go, collected my honorable DD214 with the understanding that I was obligated, should they call, for up to 3 months TDY down the line. Sure enough, in 1975, I got a letter from the government telling me I had to spend two weeks in support (I was a medic) of the New Jersey National Guard training at Camp Drum NY. So I went. I never thought much about it til now.

Bush's add-on may well explain any absences (if in fact there actually were any) .

Let's all make sure we remember our own lessons. I will not breathe easily until the electors cast their ballots and President George Bush is officially re-elected.

Kerry has nothing else to talk about. He can't talk about what he would REALLY do if he were President because voters would RUN the other way. He has nothing else to say period. He is such a snake.

Remember, Kerry's own mistake in his campaign lit THIS year...when he claimed a post held by Bob Kerrey. Mistakes happen. The Dems are going to have to face the tune for Kerry's mistake.

Plus...Bush addressed this issue back in 1999.

"George Bush has a clear pattern of lying about his military service," DNC Communications Director Jano Cabrera blasts in the new release.

The Kerry records must be getting close to being revealed, or the SBV October surprise is huge!
They're working like heck to make Bush look as bad as they can - they're even willing to blatantly lie, because a real beauty about Kerry must be close to the surface.
