Dear Fellow FReepers,
Kudos (you know who you are) on a job well done exposing the CBS document forgeries. Now, however, we need a unified report that tells the whole story. I have two major talk radio producers, and one investigative journalist, ready to use such a report if we complete it.
What I'm requesting is a FReeper Commission organized to investigate and report -- to investigate and consolidate what we have into a single, coherent document.
Please post to this thread if you are "in".
Essentially, here is what we need:
1) Conclusive evidence that the documents are indeed forgeries
2) Definitive evidence that the DNC is the source of these documents, or, at least, that they provided them to the other parties
3) Evidence that the Kerry campaign was involved -- i.e. that the Kerry campaign was aware of, or had seen, these documents before CBS ran the story
Of course, anything that goes further than that would be better. If we can come up with a conclusive report on these issues, we can end the campaign and smash the mainstream media's credibility.
The media will not do a full investigation, nor will the government. So, it's up to us to undertake this task.
Please ping your lists to this thread
I'm boarded up for the hurricane.Good for you. You may catch a break. Reports are that Ivan the Terrible is taking a turn to the west, which could bode well for Florida.
I heard last evening on tv that "some bloggers" discovered this. They're AFRAID to ever mention freerepublic.com, aren't they?
Actually, FreeRepublic.com HAS been mentioned by the Washington Post and credited for exposing this initially. Freeper "Buckhead" was mentioned by them and a newspaper in Illinois on a thread JimRob posted.
Freepers ROCK! Yay!
One very odd thing about this comparison of Word 2002 and the pdf files - he use Platino Linotype not Times New Roman. I don't see how we can have simulations showing a perfect match with Platino Linotype and another with Times New Roman. They are distinctly different fonts.
What's going on here? Any explanation?
Even better is that they are OBVIOUSLY not Killian's signatures. All you have to do is put them up beside a bunch of undisputed siganatures and the public can see for themselves.
The "OUR EXPERT SAYS" loses its credibility if the public can see the evidence themselves. A 12 year old could correctly identify the false signatures in a line up. Just showing the signatures beside known signatures will expose the fraudulent appraisal.
Now that I think about it, I think the best thing is to (about the forgieries) is just make sure people can see the evidence themsleves. I'm not even sure we need to draw an editorial opinion for it to be effective... just show the evidence, point out the significant issues, and leave it to the reader to decide.
I remember, back before I had any reason to doubt the talking heads, seeing the FLIR footage live on CSPAN during some sort of hearing and thinking, "HOLY ****, they're shooting those people". (No "expert" told me, I could see it myself.) I was aware when all the controversy in the news about the FLIR footage being re-enacted was on all the networks, the obsurdity of all the opinions expressed about it, but no one ever showed the controversial footage on the air while they were talking about it.
If people can see for themselves, the "experts" lose their ability to lie.
That's a really good point you made about cutting out a signature and pasting it onto another one. I used to do this at work all the time before it was easy to get hold of clip art on the net. You just cut out the piece you want, magic tape it onto your doc, then photocopy again. Voila! With the magic tape, you can't see any lines around the clip after you photocopy again. I think the signature really looks different from the signatures we know for sure are Killians though, but if an expert said they were the same, your argument about cutting and "taping" (would be a better word) could really be made. Just ask any secretary, or admin worker. We did it all the time!
.... and stay safe in Florida!
If anyone can do it, Freepers can! Let's go for it.
It seems like Ratherbiased.com has the best summary so far. Check it out:
http://ratherbiased.com/news/content/view/217/2/
While listening to Sean Hannity on Friday afternoon interviewing Killians son who had been interviewed by Mary Mapes; suggested Ms. Mapes talk to two other people he named who were serving with his father and George W. at the time, she demurred saying they were probably pro-Bush.
In 2002, DNCBS News anchor Dan Rather attended a Democrat Party fundraiser in Texas. The same year, he told Fox's Bill O'Reilly on "The O'Reilly Factor" that "You can lie about many things and still be honest."
Now Rather has been caught basing a story on a so-called "memo" that, as Yogi Berra might say, has been authenticated as a fake.
Anything for your team, right, Dan?
Count me in on this!
I posted my theory a day or so ago which was EXACTLY ALONG THOSE LINES.
AND I'M FIGHTING HURRICANES AT THE SAME TIME! LOL
"I also saw RATHER'S RESPONSE. He found a "handwriting analyst to check the signature". Hello... A signature can be the same, and it can be COPIED AND PASTED onto a FAKE DOCUMENT. ALL YOU NEED IS A BOTTLE OF WHITE-OUT AND SOME SCISSORS, DAN. Rather thinks that we're going to buy his expert's testimony????? RAOFLMAO"
