Agreed: CBS, Rather, Kerry and the DNC engaged in a deception: NOW WHAT ARE WE GONNA DO ABOUT IT?

Alright, already.

Enough of the analytical pieces.

There's more than enough proof that CBS, Rather, Kerry and the DNC engaged in wholesale deception to dupe TV audiences, and voters.

Now what are we gonna do about it?

There are multiple legal avenues ----- plus economic sanctions against CBS------ that can be employed.

Post your opinions here. Then let's get on with it.

If the RNC and Bush don't confront this issue head on, they will be doing the same thing as Kerry, who went into hibernation after the SBVFT started running their ads and releasing Unfit for Command.

Ah....but the difference being that this is a LIE. The fact that they are being so coy about this tells me they know they are holding all the cards.

Somebody needs to set up a website to centralize this boycott effort. Simply turning of CBS will DO NOTHING! We need to contact advertisers, affiliates, and sponisers. CONTACTING CBS NEWS ITSELF WILL DO NOTHING! CENTRALIZE THIS EFFORT ON A WEBSITE AND GO AFTER THE MONEY

Fox News SUcks. I've given up on them. Had'em for a while to see what the buzz was about, and to watch the war, but now they suck for the reasons you mentioned. I should say that the war coverage was incredible.

Then there is O'Reilly sleeping with anyone he thinks he can get on his show, defaming the swiftvets, denouncing the counter-forgers, and even kissing up to Michael Moore at the DNC.

"There are Republican 527's to take up the expensive fight. What we do is provide a central clearing house for all the little bits and pieces of information coming out. We're like an interactive Drudge, although I know some won't like the comparison."

Others may want to do the legal and heavy lifting. So be it.

Lets do what we can on an individual basis. We can email Phil Dragoo's link below to our email lists. Then next week we can email that link to the companies who bought advertising time on 60 Minutes of Forgery and Lies, and ask them if they want to be associated with forgery, lies and other illegal bs to elect Kerry?

What I'm loving about this is the utter futility of the Dumbocrats to get Kerry's political engine restarted.

Eight weeks before election day and the bonehead has no strategy, not even a clue, and can't even begin to spin or refute the forged memo boondoggle.

"I listen to Sean Hannity 2-3 days a week on the radio, but "Hannity & Combs" is mostly just a shouting match with people screaming over the top of one another. Susan Estrich contributes what besides constant gravelly incoherent shriekng? And Robert Reisssschhhhh is an expert on forgeries? Yea, right."

You mean Hannity & Gloom. Right? I totally agree. Just like Bill O'Reilly, this impartial stuff has got to go. Conservative news simply reports the facts. That's what the people want. And the right view adheres to the values of the Constitution and the belief of the American people. This dual view is Bravo Sierra! There aren't enough liberals that news should be catering to them.

In regards to Fox, I grew tired of them long ago. My wife and mother-n-law watch them, but most of my news comes from right here on FR and other CONSERVATIVE NEWS FORUMS, because I know I'm getting the TRUTH here. This is really the NO SPIN ZONE! That's why it's so addicting.

Could you imagine a lineup consisting of Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Ann Coulter, Tony Snow, etc...? Reporting you news on a daily basis. Heaven. :)

I think this story will be exposed for exactly what it is will come from within CBS. Just wait a week or so.

The bloody double hell (I mean heck) with that! I want the satisfaction of doing some permanent damage to the establishment media.

Nice deconstruction.

Disney's got big $$$ problems that they are covering up with accounting tricks, and Eisner finally got the drift that he was the reason why.

BTW, I like the idea of running a continuously updated positive and negative list of advertisers.

I'm against boycotts in general, and I can say here that it would be a bad idea. It doesn't matter if right-wingers like us stop watching CBS, what matters is that people in general stop watching it.

What do we do now? Let's look at the situation:

CBS is defending the memos as genuine and attacking its critics' credibility, even as experts line up against them

Why do you think the Bush campaign has been quiet so far? They're letting CBS self-destruct. We should do nothing to interfere with this process (exacerbate it, yes--interfere, no). The longer Dan Rather goes on about how much credibility he has and what a bunch of a geeks bloggers are, the stupider he looks. The higher he hoists himself up, the harder he falls.

Therefore, it's my opinion that the only actions to be taken against CBS would be to covertly try to sneak signs/messages onto their shows (like the Protest Warriors did to one of those morning shows). Sneaking a sign like "What's the Typeface, Kenneth?" or "Rather Biased" would have the effect we're looking for, which is to embarrass CBS and give viewers the feeling that CBS is not addressing an obvious failure on its part.

I agree, Liz. That is why it's important to start bringing his Treasonous Acts to the public's attention. Don't let Comrade Kerry so much as catch his breath.

I bet you're the guy that sent O'Reilly that e-mail that said he would sell himself out just to get anyone on the show. If it was you, I thought it was funny!

I totally agree. Time for a REAL conservative news channel. Americans will choose accordingly and it's lights out for Liberal television.

Attention Dan Kenneth Rather:

Back in the Wild West, if you shot your mouth off, then chances were you got filled with lead. In those days, you had to put up or shut up!

Well Danny Boy, it's time for YOU to put up or shut up!
I'm callin' you out. You are a liar and a fraud. You are a traitor to your country. You are aiding and abetting the enemy. Once more for good measure, you're a liar.

If those documents are NOT forged, then produce the originals. Produce the typewriter and produce the SOURCE of those documents. If they are NOT forged, then you have NOTHING to worry about.

Your silence and failure to produce will mean you are a liar.

Bring it on Danny Boy! If you got the proof, then let's see your hand...don't hide under your desk like a girly-man.

As I posted above, I think Bush's stratgy is to wait a bit to act.....then pounce.

However, let's not forget that it was FR that launched the memo expose.

I do think it behooves us to be ready with strategies to unleash........... when the time comes.

All the brainstorming taking place now will come in handy later.

You'll notice I did not suggest outright boycotts.......however doing a number on Viacom stock as we did on the sucesssful Slim Fast initiative is a good idea, IMHO.

Might I suggest that incident(s) be brought to the attention of the FCC with the intent of having CBS' broadcasting license revoked?

The broadcasting license under which CBS operates was granted, free of charge, with the understanding that the licensee will operate for "the public good".

CBS could have explained away the use of the forged documents in their “60 Minutes” episode (they were conned, duped, misled, or whatever) but instead chose to rehash allegations made in those false documents on their Friday News Broadcast. The “60 Minutes” broadcast could have been classified as “a mistake” but the Friday News Broadcast is quite problematic for CBS. By Friday evening many websites had raised serious questions about the authenticity of the Killian Memos and the decision makers at CBS knew, or should have known, that there was a very high probability that the memos are fakes.

It seems to me that broadcasting a news story based on documents that you know, or should know, to be false is a violation of The Public Trust and is sufficient grounds for the FCC to investigate.

I respectfully disagree with your premise for the reasons others have stated. Inaction does not give credibility to the charges. Just the opposite, it shows a quiet confidence that there is no basis for the charges. In quietness and confidence shall be your strength.

Put Pressure On The CBS Affiliates !!! Thats how you do it. Write letters and EMAILS stating your displeasure at them broadcasting Fraud and Lies as truth, and request that the Letters and Emails be put into their Public File that will be with them forever. This will make the affiliates go CRAZY and they will then turn to CBS Central for relief, for them to Come Clean and to take the pressure off of them... CBS IS ITS AFFILIATES 8-) freep-onwards!
