CBS EVENING NEWS WITH DAN RATHER to address, in detail, the issues surrounding the authenticity of the documents broadcast in the 60 MINUTES report on President Bush's service in the Texas Air National Guard... Developing...
There's plenty of time for the purge later.
Right. All he will try to do is legitimize the credibility of his claim to have carefully scrutinized the documents. That's all. He will not prove they are not fakes. He will try to prove that it was feasible to believe they were not fakes. He can't do it. But he will try.
The burden of proof in the documents authenticity is with Dan Rather. He should be able to demonstrate that an IBM Selectric typewriter of the early 70's can create a document that looks like their forgeries! These old typewriters are still around, Dan, get one from Ebay and prove it!
Lies, lies, everywhere lies, telling big, tell them wide, lies, lies, Blather lies. Tell us again Danny boy, another lie. Had all day to come up with a cover lie. Dan Blathering Rather, communist lover supreme.
YEAH, WELL WE WILL POST STICKERS LIKE THIS ALL OVER THE COUNTRY
WhatTH the frequency KenneTH...THuffering THucatash, THis is THrictly outrageouTH! THese commie newTHcasterTH are alwayTH doing thiTH!
Dan "As soon as Bush addresses the serious nature of these charges contained in these seriously forged documents then CBS can admit that we have been duped. Until then, we stand by our initial evaluation."
(1) The originals are produced or their absence is satisfactorily explained.
(2) The source and provenance of the documents is given in detail WITH names and dates.
(3) There's a really impressive explanation for the uncanny resemblance between MS WORD and these documents.
(4) There's a really impressive explanation for how these got typed without error by a man who couldn't type.
Not to mention the chances of the Air National Guard having an updated typewriter in a personnel shop is not very high. They got the leftovers from the AF when we replaced our typewriters.
FIle this story under "Lies, and the Lying Liars who tell Them", or just simply "Rathergate".
Oh, I know they are fake, but I am trying to better understand Rather's tactics since he's been exposed as the lying, partisan pr*ck he's always been.
Here is what they are going to say:
"Oh, we checked those docs and think they are for real--but her's the main thing to remember--Even if the docs were forged, it does not matter. Everything in them is true. We have checked and rechecked and we have it from NUMEROUS UNIMPEACHABLE SOURCES that the dead guy said everything that is in the memos. The STORY is true even if the memos are not---got it?"
That' the way they are spinning this scandal.
What's the font type Kenneth????
They have already set the tone.
it will be a brief comment taking little time away from "important news".
1.The documents were not a major part the story and were unnecessary to prove the issues.
2.They have every reason to believe the documents are real anyway because someone told them so.
3. The superscript th could have been put in with some effort so the issues raised about the docuements is not one (they will ignoire the other 40 problems).
4. Questions about the document do nothing to negate the issues raised.
5. Bush must answer the questions raised or not be reelected.
The Dan will move on to some real Bush bashing.
I am not sure this is going to get enough legs for us to 100% get to the bottom of this. I think the upside is that like the Swift Vets, it will occupy the news cycles for 7-10 days. Just means 2 more weeks where people are being reminded of Vietnam, not post 9-11.
I've never intentionally watched the CBS News-is there anything I need to know in advance? Drugs, alcohol, air sickness bag, duct tape, etc.?
>>>> If Freepers watched CBS, it would double their Nielsen ratings.
Considering their ratings, if my HOUSEHOLD watched CBS News it would double the ratings. I am half convinced they cooked this whole thing up as a ratings ploy to begin with -- when is the last time people talked about a live thread for Rather's news broadcast.
Or "Danliargate"
