James Rosen just reported that the Pentagon questions the use of a PO Box on a memo, and that the PO Box may never have been used by that unit saying it seems highly unlikely that they would have PO Box containing sequential numbers. Standard military practice has always been to place the actual physical address on the letter head.
Is Jenny there?
Too stupid. Obviously all of this is to get us to stop looking at Kerry's record which is highly suspicious. It looks like besides conspiring with the enemy in Paris in 1971, Kerry did NOT fulfill his required duty to the Naval Reserve after 1970. There are no records of him attending drills or going to meetings. THIS is what needs to be brought up in the media NOW.
Also, The Federalist has a petition asking that Kerry be charged with Treason for his 1971 era activities in Paris. They plan to present the petition to the Senate on September 30. I don't think Kerry will be charged with Treason (though he should be) but hopefully the petition will get enough attention to wake up some snoozing Americans out there. It is a matter of American security that this monster, John F'n Kerry not be elected president and every American should know the vile things he is capable of doing. Just my 2 cents.
So who is the box registered to now?
I looked. It looks like the date format in your sample is also incorrect. Maybe the military isn't as regimented as was believed initially -- at least not in office procedures. Or perhaps the ANG wasn't a stickler for uniformity to the degree the regular military units were. That doesn't sound right to me but I don't know how else to explain it.
try 867-5309
dyslexics untie!!
It just gets better and better.
BUMP!!!
The hits just keep on coming!
seems like an easy thing to check...
come to think of it, this whole thing was TOO easy... Clintons sabotaging Kerry?
Good post.
From USPS.gov. The "zip Code Lookup"section:
PO BOX 34567
HOUSTON TX 77234-4567
Carrier Route: B006
County: HARRIS
Delivery Point: 67
Check Digit: 2
Q: Do ZIP Codes Change for PO Boxes?
A: "ZIP Codes for PO Boxes usually do not change, though the ZIP+4® will likely include a code in the plus four that designates the actual PO Box. For further information regarding this, contact the local Post Office will have that information."
This means that the PO BOX number in this case is a combination of the last 2 digits of the zip code, and the Zip 4. In this case the documents show that the PO box is the same number as the zip 4.
The only problem is that there was not a zip 4 in 1971 or 1972.
I have to disagree. My unit, 2nd Bn, 121st Infantry, 48th Enhanced Separate Brigade, Mechanized, of the Georgia Army National Guard, uses PO Boxes. In fact, the PO Box for brigade headquarters was PO Box 4848.
I did not see that. Dang! There's just too much ammo here to keep it straight across 300 separate threads.
We need one place, maybe someone's home page, where someone keeps a running list of EVERY single error, discrepancy and screw-up in these Rathergate documents that doesn't pass the smell test. I'd love to see how many different points we've come up with. There have to be 50 or 60 errors, easily, by now.
Hank All-American and I were actually talking about this last night. We are friends and former USAF officers. While this is suspicious, I would not get too giddy just yet. Ellington Field is a bit of an odd duck in many ways, and I know that some USAF offices aren't even located on installations. So it's possible. But unlikely.
You're right, This memo was a hoax, and the end result is that Rather is the butt of the joke.
I can't believe anyone actually sits and watches 60 Minutes for 60 minutes, that's a depressing thought.
I'm surrounded by A**holes!!!!!
"...contact that unit and find out if they still there old QM logs from that era, case solved."
Exactly. Seems like there is more finger-pointing than there is serious investigation. Maybe there are some who really don't want to know.
I really miss the good ol' days when politicians stood up for their beliefs and battled it out until the time came for the public decide in the voting booth. This is more stuff and nonsense than we should be asked to endure!
Acutally, yes, someone on another thread did catcht the P.O. box number. FReepers don't miss a thing!
LOL! No wonder no one ever answered the phone! DUH!
