Now how do you type a letter perfectly formatted with a single typo, no such thing as backspace/delete. No signs of white-out. Nada. Hmmmmmm?Maybe he had a secretary type it out?

PO Box 34567 is currently good in Houston, TX but at zip code 77234-4567.
Zip codes change, especially when a city grows a lot as did Houston.
As for PO Boxes -- are the numbers recycled? Are they only good for one city?

No way a unit would have a post office box when they were stationed at Ellington. The box may have been real but no way that was the address of the squadron. I would like to see any documents he sent the squadron with that address. AF would never have paid for a post office box and can assure you that the post office wouldn't have given them one in a different zip code area to boot.

What you say is true, BUT, since LTC Killian could not type, it is highly doubtful he produced these himself - especially on one of these advanced machines. Agreed. In fact, the issuance of an official document but not on official letter head is "fishy". I know they say that Killian couldn't type, but did he have an clerk/typist assigned to him? This is the kind of guy that could work a sophisticated office machine.
If this was just a personal note for his files, why would he have typed it at all? That's also suspicious.

Well there's an idea! Let's ask her.

The box may have been real but no way that was the address of the squadron. I suggested at #175 that the "box" might be personal to Killian. And, possibly, the forger mistakenly took the box information from the previously released letter Bush sent to Killian.

HEADQUARTERS 147TH FIGHTER WING (TANG)

vs the forgery

P. O. Box 34567

No P.O. Boxes exist on bases. The format is name, office, unit, base, ZIP. Because everyone on a base is there working in an official capacity.

Hello,
Great point. If these "memos" for his personal file, to be used at some future date or perhaps never, why would he bother with the full address?
Glad to be here, MOgirl

You are WRONG! The Pentagon is right -- they did not use post office boxes then. Here is the correct official address and the forgery. You cannot compare today to 1972/1971 or whatever. The Pentagon knows a lot more about what they are talking about then some Freepers who don't have a clue how the AF operates and how they address their correspondence.
I pulled out an old AF Pamphlet on Writing last night and the 0 before the 4 was not used in those days either but here are is the real address and the forged one:

After the co-ordinated attack upon Bush's 35 year old military record, it can now be legit open season on the skerry. He unleashed his hounds of hell, so now he has no victim status for the coming payback. John Forger Kerry wanted to go back 35 years, so let one and all accomodate the weasel.

So what you are saying is that even though the PO Box might be legit, it is never used in the official address? The PO BOX does appear on other Bush documents.
