Marjorie Connell — widow of the late Lt. Col. Jerry Killian, the reported author of memos suggesting that Bush did not meet the standards for the Texas Air National Guard — questions whether the documents are real on tonight's NIGHTLINE, sources tell DRUDGE.

I WAS SICK THAT HERE WITHOUT WARNING HIS PICTURES ARE UP THERE, HIS NAME IS BEING BATTLED BACK AND FORTH AND I, LIVID I GUESS IS A BETTER WORD FOR IT."

If this has legs like it appears it does, October's going to be a cakewalk. Kerry will have to spend half the month defending himself from allegations that his campaign or the DNC forged documents. This is hugh! Hugh I tell you!

Yes, but now it is "Boy That Cried Wolf" time. Let's say they get a *real* picture of Bush committing an unatural act with a goat. (No -- I *don't* believe that actually happened, but I need a really gross and extreme example.) Who will believe it?
People would look at it, look at the media's track record over the last year and say -- "Eh. . . another media smear job. *ANOTHER FORGERY!*" NO ONE would believe it except the Michael Moore-ons.
So the MSM has really stepped in it now. I think W is pretty well bullet-proof for the next three months.
Awful indeed. It reminds me of when the media was howling that they wanted to show pictures of flag-draped caskets being flown home from Iraq. The treasonous media didn't give a rip about the families of the casualties or how they felt about their loved ones being used that way. I'm convinced that Rather, et al, would sell their children to the highest bidder if they thought it would defeat GWB. Disgusting and shameful.
I get it in the Upper Midwest right after the evening news, which is right now coming on after the Thursday night NFL opener...I haven't looked at the Pied Piper's (MAD Ted) face for a long time, so it could be a severe shock to my system.

CBS will do everything they can to make sure Dan comes out smelling like roses. They will blame it on the people who were supposed to vet the document with experts. This may be a valid argument for Dan, actually, because the person who was supposed to check for forgeries dropped the ball (or at least that will be the claim), and it isn't clear that Dan could be blamed for reporting what the documents guy tells him to.

Assuming the Kerry campaign doesn't implode completely, and that Al Qaida doesn't manage it's own "October Surprise", things are going to be unbelievably ugly by late October. They're ugly enough now.
Just as well. It can only get better with age.
