Marjorie Connell — widow of the late Lt. Col. Jerry Killian, the reported author of memos suggesting that Bush did not meet the standards for the Texas Air National Guard — questions whether the documents are real on tonight's NIGHTLINE, sources tell DRUDGE.

Exactly. They whitewashed it -- barely acknowledged the possibility of inacuraccy -- painted it as "no big deal" -- DISGUSTING! Can't trust MSM - they won't "eat their own"; cause they know they could be next.
By the way, although the forged documents were a minor part of the overall program, what I noticed was that it seemed to be taken as matter-of-fact by Koppel (and Lehane for that matter) that the documents are indeed forgeries. To me, THAT was the story of tonight's Nightline.
The best part is that the White House saw these Doc's and distributed them without a peep. There is no doubt they knew they were forgeries and that Dan Rather would run with the story..... ROFLMAO

So basically, Ted mentions and plays about 6 seconds of the widow's radio dialogue. He then proceeds to paint Bush and Kerry of the same cloth and has an insider, Chris Lehane (Dirt Digger for the Dems) and Ted reminds the viewers (asks Chris to remind the viewers) of who "actually won the popular vote" in 2000.
Sickening really. ABC capitalizing on CBS,,,what a surprise. Oh yeah and this Lehane guy did suggest in an off-handed way that it could have been the Bush campaign that submitted the docs.....

Conversely, assuming we win in Nov, we must prempt that assault with our own offensive to effectively kill the MSM. We can do this by turning their own power against them and make them fall on their own sword. (And today was a GREAT start!)

I almost hope that Rove and company IS behind this scandal - - I like to believe that Republicans are capable of going way down to the bottom of the sewer to fight the Democrats where they live."
Forging Military Documents is a very serious crime and this will not just fade away. It might not be settled before the election, but this story has already been discredited and it will take away some more of whatever support John Kerry has left.
Lehane is criticizing the Bush campaign for getting up every morning and knowing what they want to say. I guess that's hard for Kerry who doesn't know from hour to hour.

Oh, I sincerely hope you're right. Kerry's unfavorables are already really high. I think he has a shot at being hated by 80% of the electorate.
