Too late. I've already been firing off faxes, etc to all CBS major sponsors letting them know I will not buy their stuff until CBS not only comes completely clean but exposes every last person culpable in this matter, including their "sources" -- and does so on a full segment of 60 Minutes. I even told Campbell's soup that I was not only withdrawing patronage, I was taking everything of theirs out of my kitchen cab and returning it to the Safeway for full refund.

They'll blame W. Not if this is the signal to Torch Ketchup Boy. The polls aren't looking good at all for Kerry, and something tells me that Hitlery isn't waiting until 2008.

Its a pity that Bush really can't sue them for libel and expect to win (public figure). IANAL, but if I'm correctly remembering previous reading of some legal stuff, even a public figure can sue for libel if there is malicious intent. That would certainly appear to be the case here.

The second line has 111th with the superscript th, and was dated 1968. All the rest have 111th with no superscript. They were obviously written on different typewriters at different times, but it obviously was possible to get a superscript in 1968, as these are official docs.
Here's a link to the doc from the records Bush released. see page 3: http://www.usatoday.com/news/bushdocs/9-Miscellaneous.pdf

This has a couple of very good things for President Bush: And one more: any other crap CBS throws at the President is automatically suspect.

ANOTHER UPDATE: A media contact emails: "ABC'S NIGHTLINE DOING THE forgeries tonight, and their experts say most likely forgeries. CBS had serious meetings this evening over this." Maybe CBS can return the favor and do a "reality check" on the ABC Nightline distorted piece on the "Assault Weapons Ban". Lots of good easy material there too.

Ray Charles could see they were forgeries. The signature wasn't even close. Anybody who has ever dealt with Military documents would quickly recognize those documents as forgeries.
So of course the White House knew they were forgeries and I can imagine they are toasting each other over helping Dan Rather maks an ass of himself :-)

I wish "we the people" COULD get rid of Bush and Chaney, but that can't happen now. The House is controlled by Republicans, and that is where any Articles of Peachment are written......but only 87 more days till we send these idiots home! "Hope is on the way"!
ABC should really add spell check on their forum...LOL

They were hoping it would give them a boost, now it may snowball and give them disaster.Yep, and it leads us to the next question: who's the forger?

Bend over an' grab yer ankles, Danny Boy. Hillary wants YOU! Hmmm. I understand HillaryCo taking down Kerry (after she stops laughing at Edwards), but why would she want to take down Rather? He's on her side...

That description certainly doesn't read like the program is going to be about the forged documents. It reads like spin, spin and more spin. ABC Spincast, Nightspin...whatever. Aren't the media even the tiniest bit dizzy?

I repeat: Rick Kaplan (Clinton's best buddy) is back at ABC News from his sojourn at CNN. Everyone might remember it was Kaplan who circulated the memo forbidding the use of the word "scandal" when doing Clinton/Lewinsky stories.
It may mean nothing...or it may mean something. I'm just saying...

Nightline will say the forgeries call into question any docs the Swift Boat Vets have into question. After all, if they are going to say the CBS docs against Bush are foregeries, it is only fair to say docs against Kerry might also be forged. Any takers on this speculation? Most likely Nightline will quote from the CBS memos as if they're completely genuine, withy nary a mention of today's exposure of the documents as fraudulent.

"I love it when liberals eat their own."I'm not so sure that will happen on Nightline tonight. ABC may be doing damage control for the Kerry campaign on the forgeries. This could be a bunch of watered-down opinions that these documents are "probably forgeries" or "likely to be forgeries" when the leading forensic experts appear to be lining up unaimously of the opinion that these are almost certainly forgeries. The forensic experts just need to examine the original documents to make a final determination. ABC news is run by a bunch of liberal schmoes who will try to sweep this aside with minimal damage to Kerry. They probably won't even call for CBS to reveal the source of these documents.
