General Staudt was retired!
Powerline ^ | Sept 9 2004 | Big Trunk

Posted on 09/09/2004 4:34:07 PM PDT by Dog

UPDATE 12: In the August 18, 1973 memo "discovered" by 60 Minutes, Jerry Killian purportedly writes:

Staudt has obviously pressured Hodges more about Bush. I'm having trouble running interference and doing my job. But wait! Reader Amar Sarwal points out that General Staudt, who thought very highly of Lt. Bush, retired in 1972.

The more I look at these "memos," the more obvious it appears that they are inept forgeries.

Thanks for the ping.

I generally don't like being on 'ping lists'.

But this one is a dandy...

Interesting trivia on pings. I think I came up with the term 'ping' here the late 90's

Someone out there with more time on their hands than I may be able to research it..

I don't care personally..

It's just that at the time when I came up with the term I didn't realize it would become a main communication tool here..

But now that it's a (XML powered?)red text thingy that John has up on the top, a freaking light went off in my little brain..

Heck. This is an awesome way to communicate with fellow FReepers..!!!

Please do not use the ping too often for me.

I sort through a ton of real-time communications on and off the web right now.

I want the FR ping to be used as a personalized communication experience from fellow travellers on the forum..

On or off the FAB board..

Hopefully John and JimRob can figure out a way to make money on this.

The value and power of a defacto DNS based 'peer2peer/bypass port25 and migrate back to port80' network of countless FReepers, the leaders of alternative media, using 6 or 7 years of real history in a dynamic and modern XML setting, is impossible to calculate..

The time is right. The technology is here.

Google, a term, went on the block and became worth billions instantly..

Easily worth a few bucks a month for each FReeper interested to diving in if you ask me

ciao
tt

THis is soo "democrat party." Those people have created an education system that removes thinking and the need to have facts behind you when presenting something. The people doin the legwork for the party are the ones who are products of their failed approach to education that doesn't reward ability. Democrat minions are the ones that need affermative action because they cannot succeed on their merits. This is the tip of the iceberg for the Democrats. If this forgery is so bad, what other disasters lurk in their future due to incompetent worker bees?

In contrast, Conservative worker bees come from backgrounds where what you know and the accuracy of your thinking are crucial for success.

Well then, just all your regular FReepers on your regular threads will have to do. This memogate is not going away, even though I just heard that See BS wannabe news is standing by its claim that the documents are real, not forged. DUH!!!

BTW, there is live Rush thread on FR now, but I usually listen to him on a 1 hr delay.

The more I see of this, the more I am convinced that Kerry is being submarined in order to set up Hitlery for 2008.

Let me add something to your analysis if I may. Not only is she destroying the two current candidates, she is also ridding herself of more baggage. If you think about it, adding the well known and much detested staff of her hubby to his campaign also ensures they have no future after the election. By sending her well known liars and screamers out now, she can hire fresh faces and not have their names attached to her in any way. Whaddya think?

If they are outed as a part of this...then that would be another result. I guess we'll wait and see who gets nailed.

I'm in Rochester NY and he is on a 2 hour delay. Finally had to break down and buy 24/7, the delay keeps most people from participating in the show. Rush should give the show to a station that will run it in real time.

This whole documents thing reminds me of a story I heard.

A man was applying for a job as a Hazmat trucker.
During the interview one of the interviewers asked him, a question to determine his ability to think quickly in an emergency.

The interviewr asked: This is a hypothetical situation. Suppose you are driving through the mountains, you are on the downhill side of a 7% grade there is nothing on your right but the side of the mountain, and on your left is a 1000 foot drop off, you are in a tanker carrying a 4000 gallons of gasoline. You see a truck laden with explosives jack-knifed in the road ahead, and several cars stopped on the other side of the truck, you step on the brakes and they go out, so you hit your jacob brake, it to fails. What would you do?"

The applicant thought for a minute and said "I would wake up Dan."

The interviewer asks "Who is Dan?"

The applicant replied "Well you said this is a hypothetical situation, and Dan is my hypothetical relief driver."

The interviewer said "Fair enough, but why would you wake up Dan?"

The applicant looked at the inteviewer, and somberly replied "Well because Dan ain't never seen a truck wreck, and this one is gonna be a doozy!"

The moral of the story, CBS, you better wake up DAN
