General Staudt was retired!
Powerline ^ | Sept 9 2004 | Big Trunk

Posted on 09/09/2004 4:34:07 PM PDT by Dog

UPDATE 12: In the August 18, 1973 memo "discovered" by 60 Minutes, Jerry Killian purportedly writes:

Staudt has obviously pressured Hodges more about Bush. I'm having trouble running interference and doing my job. But wait! Reader Amar Sarwal points out that General Staudt, who thought very highly of Lt. Bush, retired in 1972.

The more I look at these "memos," the more obvious it appears that they are inept forgeries.

I was looking around trying to find some of the Bush military records online last night and it is just disgusting to see the way most of the media has tried to distort and smear his record. It is so deliberate. So unfair. So full of hatred and disingenuous! There is no semblance of truth in the way they interpret the records that are available (which, btw, should be sufficient!). The MSM needs to get caught with their pants down and taken behind the shed!

You take care too! :)

Thank God for Hannity and the rest of the media that works so hard to keep things straight! I am proud of our guys! The one thing that really stands out when you research the issues is that there is one side that basically works hard to get it right and the other side (those friggen Dems) who don't care if it is right, as long as it goes their way! Yes, I thank God I have made the right choice and support the GOP!

Hi friend!

In reality, it is never going to be a reality that the left (media) sees the light and becomes honest. They just don't have it in them. The only thing we can hope for is that their constituents get smart and take the time to do their own research. Unfortunately they have a constituency that is the least likely to have the time or take the time to do that.

The more I see of this, the more I am convinced that Kerry is being submarined in order to set up Hitlery for 2008.

Seriously, NO ONE can be this inept.

Oh, wait a minute, they couldn't tell Kerry from Kerrey. Maybe they ARE this inept.

Only a FREAKIN' MORON would vote for the candidate backed by a person(s) that couldn't pull off a decent forgery.

They could not even pull off a balloon drop at their convention.

I feel like I'm actually -part- of the news, instead of just reading about it.

Al Gore didn't think of this when he invented the Internet....unintended consequences.

Yeah you laugh but I heard a clip on the Laura Ingraham show where Stephonopolos was on national tv saying that the whole thing might be a republican setup.

The media wasn't even embarrassed when they got caught out on the Clark book, the Wilson book, or assorted other lies and outright manifestations of BIAS

good points, it's shocking what they think they can get away with.

Thank you DB! Your sleuthing is much appreciated! It was so frustrating yesterday to see all the comments yesterday - on FR and in the press - saying that the Selectric was needed for proportional spacing and the th superscript could never be done on a Selectric.

Actually the opposite is true! You could get a special symbol ball for the Selectric. If you used a superscript or greek symbol a lot you could get a special ball with that symbol. You would have to change the ball to get the symbol and that was a pain in the earlier models. The later balls were somewhat easier to change.

I am ytyping this out for the last time this AM, till the article surfaces, this is a heads up.

According to one of the papers I saw this morning, those Documents came from a DNC oppo researcher, who then got them to CBS.

They do get away with their BIAS day in and day out. Read Sammon's book on how the media dealt with the 2000 election and you'll see that everything we always thought is more than true.
