General Staudt was retired!
Powerline ^ | Sept 9 2004 | Big Trunk

Posted on 09/09/2004 4:34:07 PM PDT by Dog

UPDATE 12: In the August 18, 1973 memo "discovered" by 60 Minutes, Jerry Killian purportedly writes:

Staudt has obviously pressured Hodges more about Bush. I'm having trouble running interference and doing my job. But wait! Reader Amar Sarwal points out that General Staudt, who thought very highly of Lt. Bush, retired in 1972.

The more I look at these "memos," the more obvious it appears that they are inept forgeries.

I just read an article that you might find on the drudge site that says the Kerry campaign had those documents for several weeks before turning them over to CBS. Both are saying they had trouble with their authenticity! LOL. This is a real joke. Disgusting is more like it.

This type of smear and CYA cycle is what's really going to bring the old media down. They're trying to pump a message, but get caught by their own inertia. CBS caught coordinating with Democrat spin meisters, discovered by a bunch of bloggers - how rich.

I've got to get ready for work soon. Take care.

Thanks for the ping. It feels good to be called a "friend".

What a glorious payback for the rank media bias that Rather/CBS would step in the dog doo pile like this.

It wouldn't be so bad if they'd done even one interview with the Swift Boat veterans, but N-o-o-o!
They've stepped in this big pile straight on and then they started walking around in our house, on the carpet even!

But now everyone will complain about their stink, not just us, and everyone will tell them to just GET AWAY!!!!

Ha ha ha ha!

A good helping of just desserts has just been served and thank you very much, it tastes SO G-O-O-O-D!

The media wasn't even embarrassed when they got caught out on the Clark book, the Wilson book, or assorted other lies and outright manifestations of BIAS.

They will simply move on from this as tho it was unimportant that they participated in a fraud.

However, WABC radio discussing this in the context of false documents at the top of every news story. And how the kerry folks are worried that this will hurt them in the end.

Scarborough would be a perfect matchup to the gigolo. He changes his positions on every issue just about every day.

The more I see of this, the more I am convinced that Kerry is being submarined in order to set up Hitlery for 2008.

I've been spinning that very same weird theory, Jeff. Edwards and Kerry are consigned to the "yesterday's loser" category, removing the two strongest horses from the Dem stable, and leaving the spoils to Hillary in '08...

LOL! I wouldn't believe in a military commander's e-mails from the 1990's -- those old guys were technophobic as h*ll. My Dad (32 years Navy) STILL won't e-mail!

You know, if this thing had been written in crayon CBS would still stand behind it.

Them Bushies ought to be ASHAMED of themselves for making a poor old man like Dan Rather go on National TV and make a fool outta himself! It's ALL their fault!! They made him say those things!!

Laugh now but the guy who subbed for Paul Harvey implied that since the forgeries were so quickly uncovered, that Dan Rather was set up. He seemed to think the evidence about typewriters was obscure so how could it be uncovered by so many so quickly. That is one of those moments where you want to scream through the radio, "Check out the threads on FR!".

Good morning, and thanks again! I see I’m not the only paranoid who suspects the clintons are behind all this.

BTW, did you know that if you make a cup of Irish breakfast tea and add just the right amount of milk and sugar, it tastes just like drinking a flower!

Let the day begin.
