General Staudt was retired!

UPDATE 12: In the August 18, 1973 memo "discovered" by 60 Minutes, Jerry Killian purportedly writes:
Staudt has obviously pressured Hodges more about Bush. I'm having trouble running interference and doing my job. But wait! Reader Amar Sarwal points out that General Staudt, who thought very highly of Lt. Bush, retired in 1972.
The more I look at these "memos," the more obvious it appears that they are inept forgeries.

How were these found?
If in the Pentagon or on some base, there is a major security breach to investigate.
CBS hasn't yet said, except to claim that at one point at some time, they were in the officer's personal file.
They haven't provided the chain of custody, which is something you need to show if you want to use a document in court as evidence.
That is a separate requirement from showing that the document is authentic, and separate from showing who created the document.

"Staudt is still alive, I think we need a new 527 ad folks"
. I think something like this would work:
"The Commander in Chief during wartime is not immune from criticsm, but planting forged documents in the file of a dead man, my friend Jerry Killian, and using it as a pretext to undercut the Commander in Chief in a time of war is too much for this Old Soldier to sit by and watch.... "
That's a pretty good start....
That, my friend, is an EXCELLENT START!
Anyone know a swift boat address? Perhaps they could contact this living Colonel and find out if he is as outraged and anxious to get this news out to our fellow citizens as WE ARE!!! A new 527 devoted to outing the MSM lies is a GOOD THING!

Kerry: Dan, you have to get me something I can work with, not this half a** forgery. Where is that girl that Bush knocked up and then paid for the abortion, what about the Camp David cocaine incident, come on, I am dying here.

BOY, does this make CBS look like a bunch of amateurs!
Only if it makes the light of day...which is doubtful.

Ohh hell, that was too much, coffee and bagel spewed all over. That is so funny, the old media will have a cow when an old autheticated looking USN document concerning those two hits the net big time.

That CBS did not mention tonight that the memo may be forged is almost unforgiveable. Absolutely in your face, screw you and I'll LIE if I want to bold.
We need to pressure them over at CBS, call into talk radio tomorrow, raise the awareness of our fellow citizens and demand retraction or DEMAND an FCC investigation, BACKED BY OUR CONGRESS.

Whoever did this hatchet job,was a lousy forger, who was SO clumsy, that debunking it is proving to be easy and a great "game"! CBS was so damned stupid! It looks a little too "clumsy", no? The question now is: who provided these docs? The family has denied providing them. CBS needs to fess up or admit they created the hoax out of thin air. Then let's see if the FCC has anything to say about yanking their license.

Tell it to the President of CBS News, Andrew Heyward.
Andrew Heyward -- CBS News
Title: President
Department: Headquarters
Phone: (212) 975-4321
Fax: (212) 975-1893
Address: 524 W 57th St, New York, NY 10019
FAX him. Load his desk tomorrow morning. My FAX is already there.
I basically asked him if he was satisfied having his reputation dependent on Dan Rather and the folks at 60 Minutes.
To: Mike Fieschko
Thanks, I wondered, if someone claims these came about by way of the 180 that Bush signed, then government sources WOULD have been tampered with and the "SH!T will hit the fan."
GRAPHIC NEEDED PLEASE!!!!

Thanks for the ping Misty. Brit Hume is tracking this ever so closely with a jaundice view as to their authenticity. If anyone will get to the bottom of it, I'm confident he will.
