Al Gore on Thursday described Vice President Dick Cheney's remark that ``the wrong choice'' by voters could result in another terrorist attack as ``a sleazy and despicable effort to blackmail voters with fear.''
In remarks prepared for a speech to the United Steelworkers of America, the former vice president accused President Bush and Cheney of using fear to promote their re-election because they have what he called a ``failed record'' on the economy, health care and the war in Iraq. ``The claim by Bush and Cheney that the American people must give them four more years in office or else be 'hit hard' by another terrorist attack is a sleazy and despicable effort to blackmail voters with fear,'' Gore said.``They are going back to the ugliest page in the Republican playbook: fear,'' he said. ``They're not even trying to convince you to vote for George Bush. Their only hope is to try and make you too afraid to vote for John Kerry. It's the lowest sort of politics imaginable.''
Cheney told supporters in Des Moines, Iowa, on Tuesday that, if Kerry were elected, the United States risked falling back into a ``pre-9/11 mind-set'' that terrorist attacks are criminal acts that require a reactive approach.
``It's absolutely essential that eight weeks from today, on Nov. 2, we make the right choice, because if we make the wrong choice then the danger is that we'll get hit again and we'll be hit in a way that will be devastating from the standpoint of the United States,'' Cheney said.
Gore joined other Democrats, including Kerry and running mate John Edwards, in condemning Cheney's statement. President Bush declined to discuss the issue with reporters on Wednesday. White House spokesman Scott McClellan said Cheney was talking about differences in how Bush and Kerry would approach the war on terror.
GO F*CK YOURSELF AL!
Sorry but I am sure Cheney would say the same thing.
;D
I thought he was, who let him out?
"Fat, dumb and stupid is no way to go through life Al Gee."
LOL, so true.
I really dislike this man.
Anyone remember the movie "Justice For All"?
Gore is like the one lawyer who was throwing plates in the hallway of the courthouse and later wound up on the ledge of the courthouse building!!
yep that is him alright
A recount of the votes which led to former vice president Al Gore being elected to Apple's Board of Directors was demanded late Friday afternoon after it was discovered that there were nine votes for Gore, even though there are only six members on Apple's board.
WTFIIW the recounts, Al?
Algore further invests the Dims in a losing hand. Cheney will show his cards after a few more rounds of bets.
Al meet Irrelevant Politician.
Irrelevant Politician meet Al.
He's the guy that invented the Internet.
Don't forget that he was also the protagonist of Love Story
No, Al, the lowest sort of politics imaginable is trying every nasty little trick in the book to steal an election you had clearly lost.
And rescinding a concession is just tacky.
Well, you don't have to get thnippy about it.
Alright, what EXACTLY did Cheney say? I gotta read it for myself..
Gore: Cheney 'Blackmailing Voters With Fear'
If telling the truth is blackmail, so be it.
Xanax! Xanax! Xanax! Xanax!
"Hi, I'm Al Gore and I'm having a panic attack. But now, when I feel like my head's going to explode, I whip out the Xanax and chase it with some John Daniels. And then I don't feel so bad."
Remember, a little Xanax goes a LONG way...just like Al Gore.
Fear of terrorists attacks if Kerry were to be elected are well founded.
These remarks are from the goofball who wrote "Earth In The Balance" which is science fiction, not science fact.
Give Me A Break.
Pretending otherwise makes you a casualty.
