THE "New" CBS BUSH DOCUMENTS: Let's do some investigating
www.freerepublic.com | September 9, 2004

Posted on 09/08/2004 9:16:02 PM PDT by Howlin

These are the NEW documents "discovered" by CBS with conjunction with their Ben Barnes expose/confessional tonight regarding George Bush's National Guard service.

They've gotten some interesting comments on the Live Thread, so I thought I'd give them their own thread so you people out there with the knowledge can dissect them for their accuracy/truth/existence.

Look at Bush's real records - They're ALL individually typed, NONE in this format, font, or style.

Then Fox should have these excellent points brought to their attention. They'd probably look into it some more, and if found to be true, once again reveal 60 lying minutes as the demonrats they truly are!

Wonder who Kerry's pal is at the pentagon. Or maybe its was from Hillary's secret files. It really doesn't matter. Bush was honorably discharged.

Just where is the story in all this? Sounds like Bush was doing the right thing.

don't sweat it. I think the Dems have over-reached, again. Karl Rove sent them snarling to fill this week and next with whatever slime they could come up with. I mean it's laughable that Estrich lays out in her memo what the strategy is going to be.
Bottom line and I think you can see it in the state polls starting to come in. Nothing from 35 or 25 or 10 years ago on a personal level is going to trump kids being shot in the back and stabbed at their school.
It's clear in the minds of the voters in every poll that Bush pounds Kerry on national security and terrorism.
Kerry doesn't have a national platform left to move those numbers except for maybe 20 minutes at the debates.
The Dems chose to dance around today's security issues except for memorable lines like "every attack will be met with a swift reponse" and "we will hunt you down and kill you" and instead filled their convention with a week of celebrating a war they hated in '92.

Sorry if this is repeat..

On FNC this morning a Democrat strategist acknowledged that the issue was b in large irrelevant to the next four years, etc. He also very specifically said: "Bush was honorably discharged and Kerry served admirably."

The weak spot for Kerry is the unknown state of his discharge. If the truth could ever be known, I would guess he was dishonorably discharged for negotiating with the enemy and slandering his comrades.

Sign the 180.

The question I have is the superscript. Were they actually available in 1972 for the fonts you show? And what is the source for the fonts you show? I don't recall any of the selectrics having the special superscript fonts when I was writing college papers (on the department secretary's machine after hours) and had to use equations (e.g. x2). So I am very suspicious of the use of 111th in one of the memos. Could that be the smoking gun that shows they are false?

Mrs. Steveo used to underwrite mortgage loans. When a loan officer wanted to overstate income they would alter pay stubs and photocopy multiple times to generate copy noise and hide the alterations. It never worked because they never went through the trouble of checking the noise for randomness.

If you examine the 04 May 1972 and the 18 August 1973 you'll see enough similarities in the noise background to question their authenticity.

A spokeswoman for "60 Minutes," Kelli Edwards, declined to say exactly how the new documents were obtained other than that CBS News understood they had been taken from Killian's "personal office file."

Morning Howlin! Did you stay up all night?

If CBS got these from an undisclosed source there may well be more that they are holding back for later. Even if they are forgeries, the drip, drip, drip, from a thousand small cuts does not do us any good.

(Where are the Swifties when we need them?)

Yep, you are absolutely correct

not one of those four documents would have been kept in anyone's official Personal file

at the most they would have been in a squadron PIF...Personal Information File at the unit's orderly room and should have been pulled and given to the service member when he transfered or separated

and the memos and CYA would have been stuck in a back file or desk drawer of the commanders desk, which wasn't exactly kosher but done by most commanders and supervisors

Yes they will hear. First of all FNN is the primary method of getting news. Secondly Rush is a close second. Thirdly It will dome up in the debates. Fourthly the Swift Boats sure got their message out and this has great legs.

For all we know -- since they didn't produce their source -- there could be others that are favorable to Bush.

No, they did NOT have that key: A few had fractions (1/2, 1/3)...

BUT look at the "real" records from that timeframe from that squadron from that office on that airbase: ALL of the "real" records use "111th F.I.S." as a designation.

NONE use any superscripted fonts. NONE use proportional fonts.

Yeah, I know it's a "bad" site and said that when first posting it but there were some helpful documents posted there.

Compare the memos typefaces to the other 'official' documents. The forms are all typed in all upper case monospace fonts. Very typical for the time.

The new docs are obvious frauds.

You should compare the J and K to another memo with the real Killian's signature...
