An excerpt from Steyn's latest has me suspicious that a slaughter of schoolkids is planned for America soon-maybe before the election.

Could what happened in Beslan happen in the US? Two months ago, the Minneapolis Star-Tribune reported on a fellow called Mohamad Kamal Elzahabi, a suspected terrorist who'd fought with his fellow jihadi in Chechnya and somehow wound up in Minnesota, where he'd applied for licences to transport hazardous materials and drive school buses.

Now, what if some less suspicious "white-looking" Chechen, or female, or some local recruit(s) starts driving school bus and and shows for work up one day and rigs a bus full of kids with explosives? Background checks can be defeated with enough planning. I doubt the enemy will make the same mistake twice.

We are catching way too many suspects up here in Minneapolis. Wonder if this is happening in your city also?

If they're clever, they know that the suburbs are the easiest target. Furthermore, I think they think that a suburb is most representative of America - that it would be a strike at most of what is the "Great Satan."

I can also vouch for the drills in El Paso schools during that time. We all knew our proximity to the base and even White Sands missile range placed us on a list of guaranteed targets should nuclear war occur. Those were scary times and so are these.

In those days, our way of fighting the cold war was a weapons race with the Soviets and though we all knew a desk might provide little protection from a nuclear weapon, as far as the general public was concerned it was all we could do should the war be brought home to us. In the war against the Islamic Nazis there is lot we can do if they bring it back to our soil and we'd better get ready to do it... because hiding under a desk when they come for us or our children won't save us any more than it would have saved us against a nuke. We need a mindset in America that this is war and we need to be prepared to fight it.

I'm 43, and grew up in Southern California. Attended both private and public schools. We did them about as frequently as fire drills are conducted.

The reason, IIRC, was to protect against nuclear attack and earthquakes.

AMERICA'S  ISLAMIZATION
CAIR (Council on American-Islamic Relations) spokesman Ibrahim Hooper indicated in a 1993 interview with the Minneapolis Star Tribune that he wants to see the United States become a Muslim country.

Before Americans start pitying the poor Brits (who truly deserve a good bashing from Islam), they should checked their own  neighborhoods!  Besides Louis Farrakan's Nation of Islam, the Black Panther and New Black Panther Parties with all their black wanna-be Muslims, there are also REAL Muslims and their communities are springing up everywhere. In 1970 there were an estimated one-hundred thousand Muslims in the United States. Today, a mere 34 years later, the number is approximately 7-10 million! More than a quarter of a million people of Arab descent live in southeastern Michigan, making the area the second-largest Arab community outside the Middle East (after Paris, France). One frightening example of their prolific growth in American is Dearborn, Michigan. Of a total population of 90,000 Dearborn residents, 25,000 are now Arabs!  And of all the Dearborn children under the age of 18, a full 58% are Arab children! Other developing centers of Arab/Muslim growth are Florida, Texas, New Jersey and California. God Bless America!

Every year huge numbers of Arabs/Muslims from Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Kuwaitis, Syria, Egypt, Albania and dozens of other ethnic Muslim states who hate America swarm into the United States and add to the already increasing numbers of Arab/Muslim. And every year hundreds of mosques, which preach the extermination of all non-Muslims and the Islamization of America, are being added to the thousands already pointing their minarets skyward. The vast majority (80%) of American mosques are funded with Saudi Arabian money and most subscribe to 18th century Wahhabism that calls for the spread of Islam through violence. Many mosques, "Islamic Learning Centers" and Arab/Muslim Student Unions are distributing large numbers of pamphlets and leaflets attacking Judaism, Christianity and other non-Muslim religions and urging young Americans (esp. angry black Americans) to convert to Islam! Not surprisingly, a large number of African-Americans convert to Islam while in the prison systems! The National Islamic Prison Foundation, which coordinates a campaign to convert inmates to Islam claim an average of 135,000 such conversions per year. And if thousands of self-hating, Leftwing Jews hadn't already converted to Buddhism, they too might be targeted!

The nerve of these evil people to exploit the freedoms given to them here in America and other democracies when their goal is to extinguish ALL freedom!  

Many Arabs in America are a disloyal fifth column. They work relentlessly to undermine the U.S. struggle to survive in the face of the growing Muslim terrorist threat. The huge Muslim birthrate, Muslim immigration, the massive expansion of Muslim religious and educational institutions that convert Christians to Islam and the purchase of major U.S. companies by Muslim oil sheiks are all also part of their strategy. America's great friend (???), Saudi Arabia, from whose land came fifteen of the nineteen September 11th Arab hijackers (who flattened the World Trade Center, a portion of the Pentagon and made a very big hole in a Pennsylvania field), has for some time been spear-heading the spread of Islamic doctrine. The Saudis have wholly or partly financed some 210 Islamic Centers (check out this one in Boca Raton, Florida!!!), more than 1,500 mosques and 202 colleges and almost 2,000 schools for educating Muslim children in non-Islamic countries in Europe, Asia, South America, Canada, Australia and America. Check out the mosque near you and look for Islamic propagandists exalting the virtues of Islam to appear soon in YOUR kid's school. Speaking of schools, watch them try to infuse Islam and Islamic rights INTO school systems! Did you know that some Islamic schools in America are teaching hatred toward American Jews and Christians? And what about regular North American colleges and universities? Check out one of the so-called "social activities" of the M.S.A. (Muslim Student Association)! And don't forget to pick up the U.S. Postal Service's new 34 cent Eid-il-Mubarak stamp!

Methinks, if I were a parent and it was somehow impossible for me to homeschool or some such . . .

I'd inquire quietly about who the more alert, older, athletic male students were who came from wise families.

Then I'd meet with those families and with the 3-4 fathers and mothers and kids, arrive at a training program to strategies at least a handful of probable such situations. And I'd give the kids every skill and tool I lawfully could to handle such situations--especially insuring spiritual ones.

If possible, I'd see if older kids could be deputized and given more formal legal cover.

I'd want to experiment with things like pepper spray and perhaps injection options that might be legally carried in a backpack.

I'd strategize with some skilled stage magicians--not black magic but distraction sorts of trickery.

I'd experiment with ear piercing sounds and possible invention of hand sized modules capable of putting such sounds out.

I might experiment with darts and blow guns very concealable and insure that school and police authorities would sanction them for selected trained, responsible kids or just risk it with keeping them very concealed even from Xrays. Similar experiments and training with hefty rubber bands and perhaps paper clips or other rubber band shootable metal pieces hazardous to Jihadi's eyes.

Guess I'd just want to leave no stone unturned to provide my kids and the bus with as many options as possible and with tested ways to insure as many survivors as possible.

Forget the officials. They are either not going to be there in time or going to be awash in hand wringing politically tortured decisions for far too long.

The time to act is in the first 15 min or less.

Normally I would agree, but with the WOT picking up I am not so sure, speed is EVERYTHING, give the terrorists time to set thier bombs and instill fear in thier hostages and you have lost. We need to hit back hard and fast, the only way to do that is to use brothers, sons and dads living there. Most Americans have guns and know how to use them. Quite a few are ex-military. This gives us a huge advantage if we use it.

Not yet. It's really weird though because the dream was very vivid. I was walking around the bus and I could see Carson sitting there looking at me. It was very quiet. The bus was parked in a parking lot next to an office building.
I say it was my daughter looking at me but it could have been any 8 year old pig-tailed little girl. The bomb had a pressure sensitive fuse sort of like those underwater mines in WWII that sensed the pressure change of a passing ship.
Sorry, but the dream was just too damned vivid. It scares me too think about it. When you have 3 kids what those monsters did in Beslan hits home.

I hate to say it. Well, we had "DROP" under-the-desk drills in the 1950s and 1960s in the event of a nuclear explosion.Now it is clear we need to have "HOSTAGE" drills in the 2000s...

You realize that those "drop and cover" drills would have been completely useless in the event of a nuclear attack, right? Just something that the government did so that they couldn't be accused of not caring about the children...
