It is well known that John Kerry testified before the Congress in 1971 and his testimony although both disputable and refutable in factual, ethical, and Constitutional terms, is an indisputable historical fact. Now and forever, Kerry's ignominious testimony soils the record and good name of millions of Veterans and the United States of America. How that testimony came about, and what Kerry's political aspirations were then, are self-evident now.
Kerry was "at home" among Senators who had a likeminded agenda in 1971 and both were grandstanding, but Kerry erroneously thought it would light a fuse and rocket him to political stardom. But those "old coots" flushed him like a used Tampax. Not to be deterred from his ambitions, Kerry carefully calculated marriage to the "right," wealthy woman and engineered affiliation with leftists elitists to establish himself as a true Massachusetts liberal; and that put him back on the road to his self-ordained "messianic" mission of becoming the second "JFK."
The indisputable fact is that in order to advance his own political ambitions, John Kerry chose to malign millions of military members who were serving honorably for a worthy cause in Vietnam, the cause of Freedom! One must ask, is the cause of Freedom ever unworthy?
Clearly, Kerry's actions were unworthy when analyzed in the bright light of truth. Rather than Freedom, Kerry not arguably, but certifiably supported tyranny and despotism following departure from his micro "Tour of Duty." (Two tours? For those in the know, what a laugh!)
Regarding whether or not Saddam Hussein should have been removed as dictator of Iraq, Kerry is consistent only in his ambivalence. When he senses that the American public favors the War on Terrorism, he is a War on Terrorism Candidate. In the alternative, when Kerry senses that the WOT declines in importance or that it engenders antipathy among Americans, Kerry is against the WOT.
The cause of Freedom is only a convenient adjunct to Kerry's political aspirations and personal ambitions.
Kerry's "flip flops" are so numerous and so well known, that no amount of spin by his campaign or George Soros' multi-million dollar support of Moveon.org to mold and control public perception, can overcome the reality of Kerry's post-Vietnam Constitutionally treasonous behavior. In similar vein, "Moore's" Americans may be as "dumb" as he has so emphatically characterized them to be (since there are indeed many who "embrace" his fictional "911" piece), but mainstream Americans are not stupid since they can plainly see Kerry's flip flops and his consistent dissimulation.
Americans don't like it (and they don't easily forget) when one of their own stabs America in the back with the treachery of a reincarnated Benedict Arnold. Kerry is indisputably guilty of "stabbing America in the back" while wrapping himself in the Freedom of Speech provision of the First Amendment, (if one chooses to ignore the Constitutional proscription against giving aid and comfort to the Nation's enemies) and of tacitly, if not actually, supporting two despots.
For over a year so called, "liberals," the Democrat Party, including Kerry and his co-candidates, smeared, maligned, cursed, vilified, and otherwise bashed the President. Undoubtedly, the President deserved some of it, but it is totally hypocritical and disingenuous for Kerry and his "fellow travelers" have the temerity to tell the American people that Swift Boat Veterans for Truth are engaging in a "smear" campaign against Senator Kerry on behalf of the Republican Party. That is beyond absurd, it is beyond outrageous; it is comical!
Is the Republican Party gleeful that Kerry is getting his due? The writer's guess is, "you bet!" And it couldn't happen to a "nicer girlyman."
A friend called during the President's wide ranging and thoughtful acceptance speech. The friend was "wringing his hands" at the divisiveness that pollutes the political air, he cried that the debate ought to be about the issues. It wasn't too long before he learned that as far as this writer is concerned, Mr. Kerry is the issue. As it has been aptly pointed out that before Kerry can debate the President, he must first finish the debate with himself, a debate that began before Vietnam.
Where the President and others applaud Kerry for his Vietnam service, this writer does not. Why won't Kerry release his entire military record? Kerry' s campaign asserts that he has, but there are at least three indisputable possibilities:
1. the Kerry Campaign commits an intentional fallacy; 2. speaks a lie; or, 3. is intentionally withholding damaging information from public release.
The instructions on Standard Form 180 state in part:
"2. Restrictions on release of information. Release of information is subject to restrictions imposed by the military services consistent with Department of Defense regulations and the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and the Privacy Act of 1974. The service member (either past or present) or the member's legal guardian has access to almost any information contained in that member's own record. Others requesting information from military personnel/health records must have the release authorization in Section III of the SF 180 signed by the member or legal guardian." From everything this writer has read on the subject, Kerry has refused to honor requests that he comply with the last portion above.
Until Kerry releases his entire military service record, as the President has, Americans must assume that Kerry is hiding something that would destroy his candidacy. This is most likely the case, and thus it is a matter of utmost importance for him not to release the records; and that makes it a most urgent matter of the utmost importance for Americans to demand Kerry's entire military record be released. No release, no consideration.
Except for "sugar coating" it, Zell Miller said it all, and well.
Imagine Kerry's behavior before a Senate Committee during WWII similar to the way he testified in 1971, arguing that the attack on Pearl Harbor was America's fault, that there was no threat from Germany, and that American servicemen cut off heads, blew up bodies, and behaved worse than Genghis Khan; then have the unmitigated gall to wrap himself in the Flag, and dripping with "patriotism," salute, and tell the American public that he is "reporting for duty?" He'd be run out of town; and mainstream Americans are getting ready to do precisely that on November 2nd!
Semper Fidelis
While they are at it, run him out of the senate also!
Spoken like a boots-on-the-ground Marine colonel.
