Dem presidential hopeful John Kerry was seen this weekend touting a gun which would have been banned if legislation he co-sponsored became law...
KERRY COSPONSORED BILL BANNING GUN HE WAVES!
I used that little submit window to tell him that the traditional stock/grip combo is usually not considered a pistol grip as compared to an m-16/ak-47.
But I further said that given the tendency of dems/libs/gungrabbers to give common terms new definitions to suit their purposes, the spirit of the questions that these pictures bring up is still valid.
Judge Judy can stuff it. ALL gun manufacturers would describe that stock as having a pistol grip. If the law banned "pistol grips" what would the Supreme Court say?
Wish I knew more about guns so I could comment intelligently, but some FReeper posted an excerpt from the actual pistol grip law, and it looked to be very vague and broad.
(42) PISTOL GRIP- The term `pistol grip' means a grip, a thumbhole stock, or any other characteristic that can function as a grip.
According to the way the law was written, I think the gun Kerry is handling could easily qualify as a so-called "pistol grip".
California lawmakers and other liberals say that the grip on your illustrated shotgun is a pistolgrip - buy their definition. That shotgun would have been outlawed under the bill.
Drudge is right on the money. See #178.
I see your point. My point is basically that journalists are sorely undereducated concerning firearms.
I think the question is, what is "defined" as a pistol grip in the bill Kerry co-sponsored? .. It it is not specifically defined, that it means it is left to some judge or judges to determine what a pistol grip gun is ....
GUESS WHO'S ENDORSING JOHN KERRY????
The Communist Party of The United States of America, CPUSA, is publicly supporting the election of John Kerry.
No, this is not a typo...you read it correctly. The CPUSA has made available on its Web site, www.cpusa.org , an advertisement entitled Top Ten Reasons To Defeat Bush. This advertisement can be downloaded. The communist party urges readers to place this ad in local newspapers throughout the country to defeat President Bush.
Remarkably, the "Top Ten Reasons" of the Communist party are identical to those of the Democratic Party; out-sourcing, homosexual rights, abortion and the like.
At first, it was thought that "this was only a coincidence." The Democratic party of the United States couldn't be in lock step with the Marxists! So, the originator of this email wrote to a spokesman of the CPUSA in Georgia and here is part of the spokesman's letter: "The CPUSA supports the John Kerry campaign with donations and volunteer effort. We believe that defeating George Bush is the single most important issue this November"
Second to the last? Which sporting arm is the last?
To heck with the lawmakers. Gun manufacturers call that a pistol grip and always have.
One: The shotgun in the photos on the left IS a semi auto. Drudge has since removed the photos of the O/U shotgun that were on the right.
Two: For those of you who don't "see" a pistol grip on the stock of that gun, you're looking for a AK-47 or M-16 style protruding grip. That is not the only type of "pistol grip". The portion of the stock that slants downward and bulges to fill the palm of your hand is sometimes called the "pistol grip". I've seen it described so in several articles in "Guns and Ammo" and "American Rifleman".
The point is that the way the legislation was written, that gun he was holding , and apparently received in a illegal transfer of ownership, would have been banned.
Drudge is right on, and I commend him for a good find.
"It just doesn't matter! It just doesn't matter! "
There are far more serious errors on sKerry's part for us to focus on petty things such as this
stock Length: 360 mm 14 11/64" ~ (with full pistol grip) (bolding is mine)
Looks the manufacturer calls this a full pistol grip.
Your grade for this assignment,
A+
You've done your homework.
Pretty much how I see it. Usually the stock/grip combo isn't put in the same boat as the M-16 type grip by gun grabbers.
Not for lack of desire to get ban those kinds of guns as well, its just that all but the most extreme of them know that to attack hunters (whose guns are primarily of the traditional type) is to awaken a huge sleeping bear of voters that for the most part won't complain about gun laws as long as it doesn't touch their favorite past time.
If his flip-flopping shotgun, before it was a rifle, is a Berreta? was it made in the states or was the dims union thugs out sourcing when the could have contributed to American workers jobs by staw purchasing a Ruger, remington, Winchester, & etc for Kerry??????????????????
Breaking news: Kerry out sources his straw gun purchases to Italian manufacture.
:-) Thank you. Google is our friend.
Good thing the assault weapons ban is expiring. Time to go shopping! That should pump millions into the US economy. Personally I need some more 13 round clips.
W for Wrong
Kerry is Wrong for America!
