Dem presidential hopeful John Kerry was seen this weekend touting a gun which would have been banned if legislation he co-sponsored became law!
Kerry co-sponsored S. 1431 last year (“The Assault Weapons Ban and Law Enforcement Protection Act of 2003) which would have banned a "semiautomatic shotgun that has a pistol grip.”
Kerry was presented with the gun during a Labor Day stop in Racine, West Virginia.
"I thank you for the gift, but I can't take it to the debate with me," Kerry told a cheering crowd as he held up the device.
Photos show Kerry's hand resting on the semiautomatic shotgun's pistol grip.
Kerry's bill would ban millions of semi-automatics, including those with "pistol grips."
Opponents of the bill successfully argued that nearly all guns have "pistol grips," inluding millions of Browning Auto-5 shotguns produced since 1903.

I think Drudge is off the target with this one. What bill would have banned over-and-under shotguns? It looks like that's what he's shooting. It is the penultimate "sporting arm", used for hunting birds and shooting skeet. Fancy examples are still made even in countries like England where most gun ownership is banned. This is the one gun that rich liberal gun banners are always pictured with.
Who here thinks "W" should just go on an extended vacation until the debates?
Kerry seems to be losing this just fine without our help.
Whoa - We must remember that questioning Kerry's Senate record is the equivalent of hate speech. Should we risk dragging this Presidential race into such mud.

None of the shotguns pictured are semi-auto or have a pistol grip.
The bill would have banned all pistol grips.
But the pics don't show me that the shotgun has a pistol grip.

This is a stupid story. First off, that's not a pistol grip. Second, I don't think that's a semi-auto. Looks like a pump.
What a jerk this man is to make this statement. In a short sentence he shows more contempt for the President than he has for any terrorist.
