Terrorists who siezed a school in North Ossetia Belsan, September 1 were recieving orders from abroad throughout the three suspense laden days, says Aslanbek Aslakhanov, President Vladimir Putin's adviser for North Caucasian affairs.
'The men had their conversations not within Russia but from other countries. They were led on a leash. Our self styled 'friends' having been working for several decades, I deem, to dismember Russia. They are doing a huge, really titanic job.' (here in Russia)
'It's as clear as daylight that those people are coming up as puppeteers and are financing terror,' he said to the Rossia television company, National Russian Channel 2 tonight.
Though the bandits named certain people they wanted to see as negotiators, and Mr. Aslakhanov was among them, he is sure that the terrorist gang did not mean to talk to whoever they contacted.
Aslanbek Aslakhanov, a Chechen, was on the site throught the tradegy and contacted the gang on the telephone.
'When I spoke Russian with them, I could not make out a word. Speak Russian!' they told me.
'Well, I did as they wished, though I speak Russian with a Caucasian accent, he said in his TV interview.

This article from the Russian media says they have interviewed the captured terrorist. According to the acuthorities, the terrorist said Aslan Masadov and Shamil Basaev (Chechen terrorists I guess) told the terrorists to attack the school. The terrorist talked about an unidentified leader who goes by the nom de guerre of "Polkovnik" who was the commander. I think this means something like "field commander." I think it is a military rank. Polkovnik is Chechen (I think). I can't tell if this Polkovnik was in on the raid and is dead or just planned it.
According to this account, the terrorists asked "Polkovnik" they should attack the school, and "Polkovnik" said, "in order to start a war in the whole Caucasus."
The terrorist being interrogated is a Chechen named Nur-Pashi Kylaev. Kylaev confirmed that in the terrorist group there were various nationalities: Uzbeks, Arabs and Chechens.
According to the Prosecutor Sergei Fredinsky, there were 32 militants. One was captured and 31 were killed.
Please take my translations with a grain of salt. I do my best but don't always get everything right.
You all might google Polkovnik and see what turns up.
..and has had "put in him a terrible resolve."

Note to prior post. Polkovnik means Colonel.
>>>...fill the box, knee deep, with bacon, ham, pork chops...
Such a waste of perfectly good meat. :)
How about, we take the meat and fill it with our fat trimmings :)
That would be the chechen, Magomed Khadzhimuradov. His nickname is Polkovnik. Thanks for the info! This is my side hobby.

Maybe this is the same guy, but who knows.
""They were led on a leash. Our self styled 'friends' having been working for several decades, I deem, to dismember Russia."
What 'friends' are they talking about? Any ideas?

Depends, I think he is talking about the US.
Yes. See my post. Of course, it is hard to know what is true and what might be politics. This would be risky to lie about however.
He was arrested in Ingushetia last year I believe, but must have been turned loose or escaped? I don't know. But this ties in with the demand of the scum who took the school that those Ingush prisoners be freed.
No he is a real lowlife, and I am sure could be involved in the massacre. Seems like a good tie in with the Ingush issues, and some of the hostages claiming to have heard Ingush language spoken by terrorists.
Also the setup was all Basayev, so I believe he was the mastermind behind it. On Kavkaz in May they had this big deal posting of some important meeting in the southern corner of ikcheria and Basayev was there. One of the men in those pics is probably Magomed. I will try to prove this.
I don't think it is the US. They are writing how we are sending money and medical supplies and how Americans lined up at the embassy of Russia to sign a book of condolances.
They aren't mad at the US. They know we would naver do that.
It does sound like a state, however. Maybe Iraqi diehards? Syrians? There are a lot of bad politics right in Russia without bringing Al Qaeda into it. I guess it could be someone who wants to oust the Ossetian leaders or Putin.
China might get concerned along with E.U.
A mob of at least a thousand Ossetians enraged by the recent hostage drama in this south Russian republic gathered in the disputed Prigorodny region bordering the republic of Ingushetia Sunday, with plans to attack Ingush homes.
Regional police managed to disperse the crowd and prevent an interracial conflict, Gazeta.ru reported, citing a correspondent who was at the scene of the gathering.
North Ossetia, which has been part of Russia since the 18th Century, has been in conflict with neighboring Ingushetia ever since both became Soviet republics after 1917. The Ingushetians, a people related to the Chechens, are Sunni Muslims, while the majority of Ossetians, who speak a language related to Iranian, are Christians.
North Ossetian authorities reacted quickly to the massive gathering of local Ossetian residents in the Prigorodny district, which is home to many Ingushetians. Fearing violence from an angry crowd of at least 1,000 people, police were able to talk the men into going back to their homes, the Gazeta.ru correspondent said.
This was not the only public incident in the republic, plagued by the deaths of what may be over 400 adults and children after reportedly Ingush militants stormed a school in Beslan and held up to 1,200 people hostage.
In Beslan Sunday, Ekho Moskvy radio reported several demonstrations by angry Ossetians, sparked by delays in the release of death toll lists. Two Ossetians, meanwhile, are wanted for their alleged role in inciting public violence, Gazeta.ru reported, citing local police.
Earlier, Ossetian residents demanded the resignation of the republics president, Alexander Dzasokhov, threatening to take to the streets if he does not resign by Tuesday.
The media anticipates resignations in the Interior Ministry, in connection with last weeks hostage drama.
Police have been put on special alert for street violence.
he did say decades. I didn't say he was right but decades puts the US on the map. Isreal maybe.
Guy on far left...
Same guy on left.
Is this the same guy in the last pic?
Thanks in advance for your help.
That wouldn't be unusual I am sure. Figures.
It's MASKHADOV in the last pic and in the pics above he is at the major planning session for the Beslan massacre, the lowlife lying scum.
Sitting right next to Basayev, in fact.
