Tanks are excellent message deliverers.

But---but--Al Sadr told his boys to knock it off! We had a deal!
I'm sure we'll corner the scum again and again we'll let them off the hook. I wouldn't want to be one of our soldiers over there knowing you can annihilate the enemy but being restrained by political considerations and knowing you'll see the same SOB in your sights again soon.

Sadr is in Najaf. Al Zarqawi is in Fallujah.
Sadr is Shi'ia and backed by Iran. Al Zarqawi is Sunni and backed by al Qaeda.
Different beasts, same coin.

About time...nothing like a bit of tank fire to remind Hajji who's boss.

Sadr isn't tied to Fallujah.

Sadr is Shi'ia and backed by Iran. Al Zarqawi is Sunni and backed by al Qaeda. Why is it so difficult for most to see this?
The understanding of this is an important factor in the fight on terrorism.

U.S. tanks pounded targets in the rebel-held Sunni Muslim town of Falluja... They forgot to say that it was the holy city of Falluja. Every 3rd world toilet in the muslim world becomes holy to the media when America is hitting it. If those Reuters bastards want holy, our tanks are sure to deliver on that!

I hope it soon becomes the wholly/holy obliterated city of Falujah.

It goes a level deeper than that.
Al Qaeda's operational headquarters is in Iran, with Osama Bin Laden's son, and has been for more than two years.
Iran and Al Qaeda have formed a strategic alliance at the highest levels of each entity.
Al Sadr and Zarqawi get their orders, and their paychecks, from the same Shura Council.
