Even before Zell Miller jumped Chris Matthews last week, I noticed something had changed. During the entire week, when an interviewer colored a question with anti-GOP shiboleths, the person being interviewed shot it down...aggressively.
I believe Karl Rove and gang perceives a wounded enemy after the damage the MediaCrats did to themselves over the Swifty story. The blogoshpere whipped their a$$ in that case.
I think the turning point was the Michelle Malkin interview on Hardball. It was such a grand display of the left's rhetorical trick of twisting what a conservative says and mistating their position over and over and over. Michelle was caught flat-footed by it...she should have directly challenged Chris's misquote. I think the Bushies said "never again". Note that Zell Miller, in his tirade against Matthews, referred back to the Malkin case.
It appears to me that, after the Malkin ambush, Rove and company decided it was time to smash the media's biased concept of conservatives. I believe the talking points must have gone out...don't take it anymore. Slap 'em when they preface a question with some insult to conservatives. When David Gergen tried the old trick of tying Zell to southern racists, Laura Ingraham jumped on him like a junkyard dog and forced him to retreat.
It happened time and again last week...conservatives refusing to move on until the host retracted some implication that the GOP is mean, heartless, racist, etc. This is new to me. Did anyone else notice it?
About time!
I think you will find this observation of interest.
What is going on is the awareness that the Old Media's long black night of power and endless deceit is OVER. We are mad as "Zell" and we are not going to take it anymore!!!
The truth and 650 thousand trumps lies and 65 million dollars. The socialists can't understand why this can happen. Their entire problem solving consists at throwing money at the problem and when it doesn't help throw more money at it.
'Bout Time!Hope everyone is armed and ready...!
I think Michelle Malkin was our lovely sacrificial lamb. She's tough as nails and every bit as smart as their best. We'll always remember the alabaster serenity of her quiet self-determination. They went too far with her, and the backlash is still coming.
"Slap 'em when they preface a question with some insult to conservatives."
Alan Colmes is a great practitioner of this tactic and needs to be confronted on it.
I'm not talking "conspiracy". I just think someone may have put together a video of reporters left-tilted rhetorical devices. Example: Chris Matthews kept throwing back at Michelle Malkin, "You're saying he SHOT HIMSELF?!". No, she'd never said that. She said the wound may have been self-inflicted, meaning accidental blow-back. But Chris quickly applied the Dem trick of making her sound as radical as possible. It's a device the Dems and MediaCrats use all the time.
I still think it's a deliberate counter-assault. It was too pervasive and simultaneous to be a simple coincidence.
hear hear, I agree
Chris Matthews seems to be quite aware of the desparation of his side in this election. Like any cornered animal he is dangerous. So far all that's happened is a bit of snarling and a stream of lies. Before being interviewed by this guy, Republican officeholders and party officials should demand the guy be patted down and checked for weapons or suicide belt bombs.
I was thinking along the same lines. She seems to know how to conserve her power for a cobra strike.
Long overdue - and not a moment to lose. This message also goes for the average conservative conversationalist at the watercooler. You will never get points for conceding anything you believe to a liberal. Liberals are intellectually dishonest - and have a brazenly overt attitude of "Whatever we do or say is justified - because our cause is just, and anything goes to get enough power to cram it down people's throats."
When you finally rise to their numerous glove slaps - and tell it like it is - you have the advantage. Because their positions are based on demonstrable lies and wilfull ignorance of truths unhelpful to their manifesto. It is cathartic to say to a liberal - "The fact that you and the MSM choose to ignore XYZ does not mean it didn't happen. And just because the MSM says something is true or false - does not mean it is. I do not accept your versions of events nor your spin - we stand or fall on the facts...and so will you, Kerry and the house of cheating cards your cause is based on."
Be prepared for a lot of screaming on their part, though. Because like spoiled brats - they seek to defeat all reason by going nuclear.
And here, I put in a good word
for Speaker Denny Hastert. People,
do not discount him. I watched a
few of his recent interviews. This
man doesn't let the Lefty Media
get away with their trash. Yet he
does not sink to their level. He
reminds me of a burly, tough-as-
nails, TEDDY BEAR!
LOL...
Good morning! I didn't see the show you're talking about, but what I did see this morning on C-SPAN-book was a panel of lefty journalists and their fabricated books. This panel got together on Thursday at NYU and it was a Bush bashing tirade with a standing ovation (at the end). I could only take about 5 minutes. They plugged their website NewDemocracyProject.org. (a/k/a bring Bush down no matter what). Conservative journalists MUST be aggressive in uncovering the nuances and falsity in the libs statements. As you know, it isn't easy. The pundits are in overdrive, it's plain to see. I mean they're still talking about Bush's National Guard records. What are we to do? Keep working, working hard to get to the truth of the matter. In particular, why isn't the press demanding that John Kerry release ALL of his military records? As someone suggested yesterday, write letters to your local newspaper, and politicians demanding the release of Kerry's records. This is no time to enjoy the bounce, but to work even harder to keep W in the White House for the sake of our entire nation. John Kerry is a creep, we all know it. God Bless W and our Troops!
