steyn nails it, as usual, and better than anybody else -- also as usual.

"So we have one candidate running on a platform of ambitious reforms for an ''ownership society'' at home and a pledge to hunt down America's enemies abroad. And we have another candidate running on the platform that no one has the right to say anything mean about him LOL. Steyn is a masterful wordsmith with a sense of humor.

If you want passivity and wallowing in victim culture, the Dems will do. If you want to win this thing, Bush is the only guy running. That really sums it right there.
Here's the Ahhnold version: Don't be a girlie-man re-elect George W. Bush!

But the seared senator feels it's lese majeste even to question him. He can talk about Vietnam 24/7, but nobody else is allowed to bring it up. Great.

Maybe he should have said, ''I have four words plus a common hyphenated expression for Americans.'' I'd suggest the rewrite to him personally, but I don't want him to stare huffily at me and drone, "How dare you attack my patriotism."

Ah man, another juicy morsel from Mr. Steyn. I agree with him about candlelight vigils. I know people mean well, but let it be known here, if I should be killed in some heinous way by terrorists, don't do the vigil--just go and kill the bastards that did it.

There was an unbelievable, even for Kerry, picture of him and the missus in The Boston Globe on Friday. They're riproaring along in the swell off Nantucket. Huge billionaire-type version of a cigarette boat, she in a monster white hat (her dye-job hair turns green in salt water and sunlight), he in shades, navy windbreaker, and silly shorts. Thurston Howell III to a 'T'. One hand on the wheel, eyeing the camera in the distance, looking manly...Thurston/Kerry is seen explaining his secret plan to solve world poverty to the missus.
The huge banner headline over the picture is: Kerry blasts Bush as 'unfit to lead nation'. Do we think they're downing Koolaid by the bucketful over at The Globe?

Kerry can say less in more words that have less meaning than nearly anyone else. Someone wrote about Kerry: He can take the simple and make it sound complex.
During his Midnight Madness Muskie Meltdown Moments, he seemed to have either been (just before the speech) toasting his victory a bit early or drowning his sorrows in the grape. He had some difficulty 'saying some words' and speaking coherent thoughts.
Watch his speech, if you can. I think CSPAN.ORG has it archived. It is worth viewing for entertainment purposes.
