PLEASE folks, start praying and pray HARD! Father in heaven, you alone have the power to calm storms and quite the raging waters, we ask in Jesus name!

Heading straight towards Miami.Yes, and that's where it will hit if it doesn't vary a degree.
For the next 3,100 plus miles.
I am sure this message and comment was intended to be helpful in some way.
But it's not. Not a bit.

At first I thought this was a joke about Russia going after Islam terrorists in response to the school takeover.
Might be a good name for a Russian military response: Operation Hurrican Ivan

Who's the warning for? It will take a week to reach the carribean. They're probably just trying to see how tight they can wind Drudge up.

Boy that title gave me a start. I suspect it could apply to events in Russia as well. "Hurricane Ivan looming over the Middle East!!"
To: SirChas
I guess it'll be dubbed "Ivan the Terrible" if it reaches cat 4 strength.

Bad headline. It's NOT a warning, just a tropical advisory.

Ohh your right you got me, i mean especially since hurricane Fancis didn't follow the predictions, and didn't hit Florida.
Its just a warning, I posted a hurricane Francis warning the same day the one before it hit Florida.
And also this storm - which I believe will turn into a hurricane (not doom and gloom, just straight shooting with the facts as I see them.)- Would hit florida even if it diverted from its projected path... even if it diverted greatly from its path it would still hit Florida.. Dude I wasn't trying to be rude or doom and gloom so don't be so defensive - I was just saying man it was posted by the national hurrican center about what what might happen, they weren't too off with francis either.
I think it helpful to be informed ;)

The official track takes it right across the island of Hispanola. The 10,000+ foot mountains there have ripped apart many CAT 5 hurricanes. I'll start to worry after it passes that test.
You know, this was a pretty stupid posting. A lot of folks are super sensitive after losing everything in Hurricane Andrew. Writing up a thread in this manner is like tossing gasoline on a burning cinder. WTF were you thinking?

Take a look at NOAA. Looks like it could be a problem for the east coast by next Saturday. This is making the HUGE assumption that the high pressure ridge stays in place and the storm doesn't turn North.
It's been a very strange year down here. I'm sick of Francis!!! Nothing really happening but everything is closed. I'm going stir crazy. YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHG!!!!!!

OMG you want some cheese with that whine? I mean seriously perhapse the title was a bad choice but since when is something posted by the hurricane center a bad post?
not trying to be 'insensitive' i feel for those people who have lost things in Florida.. I hope that it a) doesn't become a hurricane and b) if it does, fails to effect the people and of florida (or for that matter the hispanic countrys) with anything serious.
But wouldn't you think they would want to see all information on more possible hurricanes? I mean stop crying and look at the path, if it doesn't get stop and keeps getting stronger, then it will hit Florida... Call that 'insensitive' if you want but I call it being informed. sheesh.

Call Jesse Jackson! I bet this is another attempt by the RNC to suppress the vote in Florida. The Republicans couldn't get it done with Charley and Frances alone so Cheney called in his Haliburton friends who had an audience with God.
Being particularly clever, the Republicans had the storm named "Ivan", to throw everyone off since we all know that that conservatives accuse the Democrats of being Socialists.
This one stinks at so many levels.

Well I'll stand up for you - there are those of us in Florida who have been watching Ivan and looking at the computer models.
Of course it is a very long way off and many changes can take place before it moves another 1,000 miles.
Hopefully we will not be having another Florida hurricane thread next week.

I'd be amazed if they are good enough to put Ivan directly across the mountains of Haiti this early in the game too much can happen.
