FORECASTER FRANKLIN
Fox reported 1 death in Bahamas due to Frances, no further details.
I think this will surrender, just like France always does! (LOL...)
Down to cat 2, at least for the moment.
One could say Frances is lightening up...

cool link to live buoy readings
How long depends on your ability and know how.
Plywood can be tapConed right into concret block or cement.
If you screw straight into the aluminum window frame because your crazy like me, use regular drill tipped aluminum screws. Pilot hole anything thicker than 1".
When you remove you just dab the holes with white silicon or silicone and paint.
I had to scrounge scraps from my neighbors. But I'm in a great HOA and we all stayed. Everybody actually checked up on everybody. Definately a block party is due! If for nothing else when we strip the windows.
PS - my house is rated for 140mph wind. But the windows aren't. And I got no clue about siding.
I never touched his stuff!! really!!
man, never seen a hurricane fall apart like Frances has, wonder what happened to her. One day she is a monster and the next she is a pussy cat. Fla sure got lucky, Way to go Fla!
Here's an updated thread on Hurricane Frances for Saturday, September 4, 2004.
The important thing to remember is don't bet your life on any predictions or probabilities. Keep those hatches battened.
That's a great link with lots of information, Anton. Thanks!
Updated Hurricane Frances thread for Saturday September 4, 2004.
That's a cool graphic, Tunehead! Thank you much!
Don't matter anymore to me. Feeling no pain :-)
Anyway, I'm going to be within 30 miles of landfall no matter where it goes. Between MS Streets and trips and internet radar, i'm picking the streets it'll land on.
all I can say is,, Hurry UP!!
If it takes out "Archies Biker Bar On the Beach " in Fort Pierce I will be upset!
That's a beautiful huge picture of a nasty storm which hopefully will stall out, head East and dissipate.
The flooding from a stalled out storm is a huge concern. They are also saying that it could be a temporary weakening.
Yeah, nice map. Drop the land fall about 2 miles south of what that map shows. It shows approx "Indrio Rd." That is the north county line of st. lucie and south line of Indian river county.
The Ft Pierce inlet is my guess right now, but that'll change quick.
Hopefully the storm will blow back out to the Atlantic. The biggest threat may be the incredible amount of water heading to an already water logged State.
Very classy pictures you keep pulling up Lainie. Kinda makes one want to head out to Zuma, doesn't it?
Thanks,
But...All 12 local channels have the same news show which is all Francis All the time, there is a curfew, there are Shelters, no beer sales, no nothing sales. The news reporters are running out of stuff to report so they're giving reports now on wind gusts and ocean white caps and explaining why they're wearing ball caps because their hair is frizzed.. Oy Vey.
There is francis overload going on. I just want the darn thing to bring it, gimmie its best shot and go the heck away!! I'm getting bored.
I can't get no readier.
Although i am going to run out of smokes monday. :-)
