The conservative MoveOnForAmerica.org plans to blast battleground states with anti-John Kerry ads until Election Day.
"MoveOnForAmerica.org was created due to the Bush campaign's largely inept attack ads against Mr. Kerry," its site says.
He said his group has already raised $200,000 and aims to surpass $1 million by the election.
"We'll hopefully be successful like the Swift boat people," Marks said, referring to the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, a 527 organization whose ads have questioned Kerry's service in Vietnam.

I was a bit premature on praising another 527
These ads suck
I agree -- SwiftVets need our donations more than anyone and are spending it the most effectively, hitting Kerry, where it really hurts, and they have the credibility to do it.

Keep the ads on the air.
With the exception of the Swift Vets, I'd stay with pro-Bush/pro-free enterprise groups such as the Club for Growth

Well said. This is a major fight. For safety and freedom. More power to these guys so we don't end up with a Marxist who would bow to the U.N., in the White House. The thought makes me shake.
A fair criticism. I should have crafted my words better. The second ad will be perceived by the black liberal community as having a racist slant, and I agree that they shouldn't be beyond criticism.
Something wrong with my short cut; try this one:

right--swifties and club for growth for me
the ads in ? here stink
Rreciprocally, it would be a good idea for conservatives to create 527s that glorify partial birth abortion while asking the viewer to vote for Kerry.
This organization mentions Willie Horton. Black people were brainwashed into personalizing Willie Horton. Democrats said "Willie Horton is you, Republicans are targeting you" and enticed black people to personalize the scum of the earth that was Willie Horton.
So, I don't know how the Willie Horton angle would play today but from everything I've observed, the 'rats still have a hold on the minds of most black people.
Again, I don't know anything about this group and it is probably legit but we need to be on guard.
Bottomline is that this ad is not that great.
Kerry was a defense lawyer, you can't hold a lawyer responsible for defending a client successfully. Unless the lawyer did something unethical, it's a non issue.
Stick with the swift vets.
You're right. The first two ads portray, directly or indirectly, African-Americans in a poor light (as Willie Horton's or Al Sharpton's). We don't need negative ads like these; they just reinforce old Black stereotypes of Republicans.
"Mr. Marks also currently hosts The Stephen Marks Show heard weekly on KFNX Radio in Phoenix" (from their website)
Anybody here from Phoenix? Could someone listen to his radio show and report back?
I am a little leary, because the ads could be deliberately going overboard, so the Dems can lump them together with the SwiftVets ads, to discredit the Swifties.
I am not impressed by their ads -- there are some real hard hitting ads that could easily be made about how Kerry voted against the weapons systems, etc.
If they are sincere, I hope they rethink it and come up with some real good ads.
Well. So much for campaign finance reform.
I see they have changed their wording since your post.
MoveOnForAmerica.org was created due to the Bush campaigns largely timid ads against Mr. Kerry,
Lurking as we speak...
i think this is a liberal group posing as a 527 for Bush trying to get a backlash... Bush campaign needs to come out and confront this one...
The ads are very amateurish also. They will soon have an injunction against their name when MoveOn's billion-dollar lawyers hear about this. Also they use CNN, News 4 and many other copyrighted sources without permission. I am keeping my wallet far away from these college students.
"i think this is a liberal group posing as a 527 for Bush trying to get a backlash... Bush campaign needs to come out and confront this one..."
The more I was thinking about it, I was coming to the same conclusion.
Someone needs to find out who is this Stephan Marks guy and who are the donors.
Yeah, "INEPT"??? Are they joking? Bush's admeister Mark McKinnon has done a masterful job of portraying Kerry as a flip-flopper out of touch with our values. These shoebox wannabes should have a little more respect, especially given the atrocious quality of their ads, which will lead many viewers to disgregard them. Looks like public access crap.
