Heavy Heart for the citizens of Beslan
Vanity | 03 September 2004 | Frank Friel

Posted on 09/03/2004 5:18:18 PM PDT by phoenix0468

I am from Oklahoma. I lived in Oklahoma City on the day of the Murray building bombing. Although we had no warning of the impending doom that touched every one's lives in this community, it was nonetheless devestating. I am sure there are many from New York and DC that feel the way I do. As someone who experienced the horror of terrorism so closely I can truly empathize with the poor people of Beslan. My heart is ripped in two thinking of the children, as I did on that fatefull day in April not so long ago. I can hear the cries of the Mothers and Fathers screaming in my mind. It is horrible and should not have happened. These people who called themselves believers in Islam are Demons from the darkest pits of hell. They shall not have any reward in heaven or anywhere else for that matter. They will burn and be joining their demon brothers and sisteres where they belong. I hope that everyone in the USA who is reading this will make an effort to mobilize their communities as I will to provide some kind of relief for these poor people. Talk to your local area Red Cross and find out what can be done. Bug the hell out of your local media outlets. Do not let these people suffer in isolation. When we were torn by terrorism three years ago, the World wept with us and for us. They reached out their hands in sympathy and comfort. We must reciprocate and offer the same to the citizens of Beslan. May God rest the souls of those departed.

maybe we could start a prayer vigil for, say, Sunday night? I remember the FRiday after 9/11, people across the country put white candles in front of their homes, and it was a very touching event. Not to forget, of course, Red Cross or other charity who can possibly help there, tho I can't imagine what would really help them, other than support to just get through

I was not present at either the Oklahoma tragedy, New York, or at the Penatagon, but this is such a tragdey. It only underscores that in this world , there are some who are truly Evil.

Like September 11, 2001...how errie that Evil can exist on a beautiful sunny day.

A charity for the victims:

http://www.moscowhelp.org

MISSION STATEMENT - BESLAN

THE FUND'S GOAL IS TO HELP THE CHILDREN AFFECTED BY THE TERRORIST ACT IN BESLAN
The complete fallout of the terror act in Beslan is not yet clear. What is clear is that this is the worst terror-related human catastrophe in the history of Russia. As of now, media reports indicate at least 150 victims who already died as a direct result of this terrorist act, and over 600 victims, mainly children, have been taken to local hospitals, a large number of them with very serious injuries.

The Foundation was originally established in 2002 to raise personal and corporate charitable donations to help families of the Nord-Ost terror victims. That project was successfully completed with all donations fully distributed.

On September 11, 2001, Russian people and the whole world stood by the people of the United States, Canada, and all other countries whose citizens became victims of that unprecedented terrorist attack.

The Beslan hostage crisis is an example of the same type of terrorism that has perpetrated the September 11 attack. In terms of the number of people involved and the worldwide attention and solidarity, the Beslan siege can in many ways be compared to the major attacks against the US and many other countries.

The Foundation is managed by a group of activists and operates in full accordance with applicable US charity laws.

All personal donations will be used solely to help the children who were injured in Beslan or whose parents died as a result of this terror act.

Go to your schools, your churches, your ?synagogues? your mosques and get every item of endearment you can muster. Teddy bears, heart shaped cards, anything. Put them in a big box and ask your local Red Cross if it can be sent to the families and surviving (tears are really going now) children of Beslan. Our Empathy is what they really nead. A warm hug from a eight thousand miles away is just as warm as from home. Believe me I know. I have been to Bosnia and know of atrocity. It is comfort they need. We can provide some.

I want to post that someone on one of the threads posted that the terrorists had taped a bomb to the ceiling and the tape broke free and the bomb fell and went off and brought the ceiling down. After this happened it gave the Russian the opportunity to storm the school and save who ever they could. The media is saying that the Russians stormed the school and then the bomb went off, which is total BS!

I received this email from a fellow missionary I have just come to know:

From: Fiodor Baraniuk [mailto:fiodor@midsouth.rr.com]
Sent: Thursday, September 02, 2004 5:34 AM
To: XXXXXXXXX
Subject: Very Urgent!!!

XXXXXXX!

Please, pass it along to others. Let’s make a chain of prayer!

We all pray for a peaceful resolution of the hostage situation in the city of Beslan in Osetiya, Russia.

Our pastor, of the Russian Baptist Union, Taymuraz Totiev has 5 children who are being held as hostages. His brother, Sergey, has 3 children who are also in that school.

The Baptist Union has tried to contact the city of Beslan but it was very difficult since all the communication with the city is now controlled by the authorities. The parents are now at the sight of the school waiting for their children.

Please, also pray for other people.

Fiodor Baraniuk,

Russian Baptist Union

Nice post, phoenix.

What I'll be interested to see now is, will the Russian people "go Spanish"?

Those children could just as well be our kids. Vote Bush/Cheney. Spitballs will not stop this kind of cruelty.

Cmon Freepers, lets all donate and show them how generous Americans are. I would recommend people emailing this site to their friends. This is a horrible tragedy and we should all pitch in.

Thanks NOBV for posting this.

I think the Russian people have a very different attitude toward this than the Spanish. I would like to think that they will see it as it is. A very open attack on them where they live. Putin will take this act and make it a rallying call of the country to join us. I hope.

What is awful is that it is quite possible that Muslim charity money from this country and Saudi money may well be the deep pockets that are funding this evil.

Money for murder is murder.

I work evenings so I have the luxery of being able to help out at my daughter's school in the mornings. Believe me, I will be there every day as long as I work this shift. I am very nervous as to the real reason these terrorists perpetrated this act. Some of them were from the Middle East, from news reports, and may be linked to Al Queda. If this is true it could be a "Training Mission" for further acts in "Other Countries". I don't want to be an alarmist, I would just like people to be aware of how these evil people may think.

The last days have been filled with prayers for the parents and children that suffered under their terrible terrorist attack on the middle school in Russia. Just last week my granddaughter set off, on a sunny morning for her first day of middle school. She said "Grammy I'm not worried, I have my lucky charm with me, and the big kids won't tease me". Remembering her words that day, I never imagined that anything beyond "sticks and stones" could ever be realized, anywhere in the world. Today, watching the happenings in Russia, I prayed for those hostages and thanked God that George Bush has protected us from such horror.

I continue to pray for all those that have suffered at the hands of those despicable people. Something has to move the WORLD and prevent those godless people from inflicting, like
horror, any place else.
