Go to your schools, your churches, your ?synagogues? your mosques and get every item of endearment you can muster. Teddy bears, heart shaped cards, anything. Put them in a big box and ask your local Red Cross if it can be sent to the families and surviving (tears are really going now) children of Beslan. Our Empathy is what they really nead. A warm hug from a eight thousand miles away is just as warm as from home. Believe me I know. I have been to Bosnia and know of atrocity. It is comfort they need. We can provide some.

I received this email from a fellow missionary I have just come to know:

From: Fiodor Baraniuk [mailto:fiodor@midsouth.rr.com]

Subject: Very Urgent!!!

XXXXXXX!

Please, pass it along to others. Let’s make a chain of prayer!

We all pray for a peaceful resolution of the hostage situation in the city of Beslan in Osetiya, Russia.

Our pastor, of the Russian Baptist Union, Taymuraz Totiev has 5 children who are being held as hostages. His brother, Sergey, has 3 children who are also in that school.

The Baptist Union has tried to contact the city of Beslan but it was very difficult since all the communication with the city is now controlled by the authorities. The parents are now at the sight of the school waiting for their children.

Please, also pray for other people.

Fiodor Baraniuk,

Russian Baptist Union
